ParticipantGaaaa. I just had a chance to shoot a baby blue ’78 Benz convertible fall through. 🙁
Like this one – http://goodmanreed.com/images/sized/images/uploads/1978Mercedes450SL28KMain-763×450.jpg
It would have looked sweet in a corn field or a two-track.

ParticipantI don’t know. Does this help?

ParticipantI was going to say that orionid is the guy to talk to. But he beat me to it.
I don’t have any trigger. I just popped a bunch of balloons. 🙂U-Man
ParticipantSorry if this has been answered. I’m at work, had an idea and want to ask about it before i forget.
What about models of old cars? I think I have a ’57 Chevy model and would like to try photographing it against an ‘infinity wall’ of curved paper.
I’m totally cool if this is restricted to real cars.

ParticipantI agree that this week had lots of goodness. I thought bender’s dragonfly was going to pull away. I’m pleasantly surprised with the tie. 🙂

ParticipantIf my 3rd is unacceptable for any reason please let me know. I have other, less funny choices. 🙂
i thought we decided you were going to be busy with birthday party and not enter tonight.
Ha! I am having a nice evening – complete with brisket cooked for 5 hours and parsley potatoes and cheesecake – but I got some archive shots in there.
I assume the fat bird is OK then. I know it doesn’t excel photographically. But it might do OK farktographically.

ParticipantI have a feeling this is going to be one of those contests where if its close its good and just hope the voters like you.
Pretty much. It will be difficult drawing a clear line, particularly for casual folks who don’t frequent the forum here. I’ll try to police truly egregious ones, however, this brings me to the more important piece for me, which is….
I’m about to head out of town for a Girl Scout camping trip with 10 giggling 9-10 year olds, 100+ degree heat, and not nearly enough coffee or booze. We leave tomorrow afternoon, and won’t get back until Saturday, however, I will immediately be heading to family stuff that may run late into the night, depending on whether the burn/fireworks ban still stands or not. Soooo, I don’t know if I’ll be able to do the usual thread closing/congrats. I’ll try to squeeze it in, but can’t promise. The bigger issue is that I won’t be able to police the thread after noon tomorrow, so if there are entries needing envotinating, or issues with entries that are egregiously breaking the rules HDR, stitching, etc), then you guys will need to submit a farkback. I will also have a couple of the other mods stop by to check on the thread from time to time, but they obviously won’t be as familiar with specific Farktography rules and may not catch issues with post-processing stuff.
We’ll watch the store for you. Have as much fun as the heat allows.

This.
Well phuq….
Congratulations, U-Man, on the win this week! 😆
Nice. I’m not feeling the magic though. I don’t have picked out yet.

ParticipantIma still a little bit confused. When I think of a “landscape” I envision a relatively subject-less photo. I mean, other than the landscape. The description has that bit about ‘the primary subject’ and ‘detail and intimacy’. The example of the statue in foliage (which I really like) looks more like a subject in a setting than a landscape.
Do you get what I mean? Am I making this too hard?
To clarify the spirit of the theme in my head, will y’all (esp orionid) please comment about these pics I grabbed from my upload to web file. Do they fit? (sorry about the large size)

ParticipantThanks for the compliments, Barracuda and bender16v. There are lots and lots of good pics this week. I was explaining to Mopsy that I have bunches of bird photos ’cause I always have my camera with me when I’m fishing. I’ll take shots that come along. Or,I’ll go looking for them when the fishies aren’t biting. I look forward to what the ‘liters’ bring this week.

ParticipantMaking my choices caused me chest pain. “Oooooo, I could use THAT one too!”
Can we increase the limit for this theme to, say, about 50 entries?

Participantlol obviously orionid types faster than I do
Not the first time my fingers have been accused of being fast. 😆
/Won’t be the last, either. 😈
I don’t know about that boy. He’s got Roman eyes and Russian hands.

ParticipantI’ve been considering different B&W software but don’t have anything special. This is just a contrasty Photoshop B&W.
The gold-sheen creepy kid was done (primarily) with Topaz Adjust.Mopsy, orionid’s pic was done with a ‘mechanically’ altered camera. There weren’t any unusual software manipulations.
I have to select #3 and I’m not super happy with my choices so far…
