ParticipantThanks for the links, stupido. I read the dpreview article on the E-500 and I didn’t come across any glaring NO! STOP! issues. That article on 4/3 is very interesting and good to know as well.
I haven’t purchased yet as I’m still weighing my options. Birthday is in about two weeks so I’ll probably pick one over this coming weekend.

ParticipantProbably too late, but I like the D50 or D70, but then I’m a Nikon Girl 🙂
See? I love me some Nikon as well. I was just thinking this deal had some bang for the buck and the D70 is a wee bit out of my price range at the moment. Maybe I should just save my pennies for a couple more months?

ParticipantIt’s hard to narrow it down but I really like the postcard idea. Would we have them printed like real postcards or do like my friend does and just draw a line down the back with a sharpie, write on it, and then mail it?
the easier the better, says i! definitely just throw an address and stamp on the back and mail it.
I agree 😛 And I like the first postcard idea where we gather the names and send one to each. My home needs more original art.

ParticipantJust wanted to echo what monkeybort said.
I’m still such a n00b, but I still go out and try, try again, and then try to remember what worked last time and what didn’t.
There’s one photo in my collection taken in the Skagit Valley tulip fields where there’s a single red tulip in a field of a bajillion yellows. I walked through 5 tulip fields, in the rain and tromping through mud, and probably took 250 pictures that day (thank jebbus for digital). When I got home and unloaded the camera there were maybe 5 photos I really liked. Out of the 250, probably half were me playing with the settings on the camera.
My friends thought it was a nutso way to spend a Saturday but I had the best time that day.I also read a lot – have this awesome National Geographic Photography Field Guide which has gotten a lot of use. I study other peoples work.
I also think there’s a natural eye for photography. Do you ever look at something and frame it in your mind? Like taking a closer look…maybe seeing something in an object a little diffferently? There’s a game I play with my eyes – I can’t explain it but I see what I want and then try to recreate it with my camera.
Sorry for the winded response – just personal observation.

ParticipantHappy Fesitvus for the rest of us!
Bring on the airing of grievances and feats of strength. Then we’ll dance around the metal pole in our tiny red thongs (with regret to monkeybort – that still cracks me up).
Seriously though – Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all 😛

ParticipantHey all. New here. I go by The_Right_Reverened_Daddio on Fark. I’m glad to be here, you guys are great shooters. Now, where do you keep the bourbon?
Welcome Full_Custom, glad to have you here. Bourbon is second shelf top left – help yourself 😀

ParticipantIs there any way to make the default for the forum reading the most recent last? it’s a pain to go down thereand try to and have to change it every time a new note is announced.
Hopefully after the holidays quiet down a few of us can put together a more specific FAQ for these boards. I’ll definitely look for an answer to your request as well.

ParticipantSo how do you find out if someone sponsored you for TF? NarcisisticRage said something last week that caught my eye so I sponsored him for a month. How did he find out? Did the mods have to give me up or am I missing something?

ParticipantLooking for suggestions for good mobile lighting solutions. My photos come out with this pink tinge using my current setup (architects lamp on dining room table). Any suggestions?
The lamp isn’t perchance, flourescent, is it?
My architects lamp takes one of those tiny tubes. Pardon my ignorance but I forget what they’re called. Is that flourescent? Above is a regular light bulb…100 watt.

ParticipantI’m in. Sounds like good fun.

do you shoot digital? as a temporary measure you could set a custom white balance to negate the pinkishness until you come up with some lighting solutions.
Good idea. I saw something a while back called ‘snap lights’ or something like that but lost the link.
I just hate that darkness comes so early these days and I get no natural light. 😥

ParticipantHI
Do Mods respond in PS forum?
I’d like my entry envotinated
time stamp 2005-12-21 08:11:23 PMIt looks like there may be a place for tech/mod here.
Maybe I’ll give it a go..unless there’s a mod here?
(hoping)I don’t think any mods here are mods on FARK as well. Correct me if I’m wrong?
