ParticipantWe had Farktography Recipe Book in Marsh 2012:
Description from that contest: Photograph food which you’ve made at home. The three photos may be either photos of different recipes, or of the same one in different stages of preparation. Include the recipe in the description.
Eat Me and Eat Me II are older and are of “Food in all its glory” – preparation seemingly not necessary. Your description sounds more like the second (which is almost 2 years old, so that’s OK provided Elsinore doesn’t jump the gun 😉 ).

ParticipantWhat is the takeaway? What are people looking for?
This could go a couple ways, I’d like to know your thinking.

ParticipantWell, I got a 3 light set with 2 silver/black umbrellas. Added a white one. Getting a 5 in 1 reflector with stand.
Yes I went cheap, but I can add better bulbs, and I can swap out parts as I can afford them.Still have about $60 for now. ($30 is specifically Amazon) Trying to exercise patience.
Eyeing the $79 Lensbaby Spark (anyone with experience with this?)Also looking for cheap iTTL flash possibly. Learning to accept the benefits of flash… my mind’s trying to fight me every step of the way, though.

ParticipantI’m not usually one to be a pain in the ass about rules, but this guy: http://www.fark.com/comments/8085702#c88616626 is a tiny bit beyond the rules.

ParticipantGetting back up to 10 isn’t hard. Especially if I continue to trawl past contests for material. But, that’s not a bad suggestion.

ParticipantWhile I already ordered a couple of things (like the lights), so far they’re single manufacturer (Cowboy Studio). I know they’re cheap and amateur, but I’m trying to get the most bang for my buck. I also got a reflector/stand/arm kit, as well as a flash diffuser and the rain-sleeve (2-pack!).
I’ll still want that link, if possible, orionid as I’ll be getting more $ for B-day and future Christmases.
I’ve got just enough left to get the Lensbaby Spark. Any experience with that particular lens, guys?

ParticipantThis site has had very little traffic in the past few months for whatever reason. Given the slowness of late, I’ve let Themes languish in the hopes of gaining any traction at all.
Suggestions for how long I should wait before deleting an expired theme?
orionid just punched a vote for a month-expired theme. Should I give it more time to get the next 2 votes? Should I say “Thanx for reminding me to delete this”?
Advice welcome (acting arbitrarily in this instance seems capricious and unnecessary.)

ParticipantCISS, I’ll take your good wishes, because 2013 sucked balls and 2014 almost HAS to be better. (If it is worse, it will make the news.)
Yugoboy
ParticipantI’m good with it.
