I now have to wear shirts with this on it:

That’s hilarious! I need to find a larger copy of that, put it on an official looking website and then show it to my youngest. I was just warning him about the dangers of dropbears last week, but he was pretty skeptical because 1) he’s 16, and 2) I’ve walked him down Shenanigans Road several times already so he’s quite the wary traveler.

    Here ya go CISS:

Awesome! Thanks fluffy! I’ll print it out and sew it onto my merit badge sash. 🙂

    Pfft…noobs! 1 – 114! wheres my badge? LOL!

I thought you were joking, but I checked and… nope, he’s not! 😯 Thanks a lot man. Way to rain on my parade. 😛

Moi? Should be the other way around, methinks! I thought I had the sweep wrapped up Thursday and then outta nowhere you’re on me like a dropbear on a tourist! 😆

oooooohhhhhh….. me likey that last one especially!

^This, plus 07-Watkins-Glen-4 on your blog.

Congrats on your 21st! We just celebrated our 25th a couple of months ago.

That looks like a beautiful area; I’d like to make it out there some time. The closest I’ve come is when I had to go to Binghamton to meet with Lockheed (I think? Whoever the big defense contractor there is.). I took a short drive when I had a spot of free time and have wanted to explore there more ever since.

Also, I just pulled up Watkins Glen on mapquest (yes, I still use mapquest a lot – don’t judge me!) and realized for the first time why they’re called the Finger Lakes. Just never really thought about it, but it’s pretty clear from the map.

Thanks Els and everyone who voted, and congrats to swampa2 on the sweep of individual and combined! It was neck & neck there for a while but I’m glad we ended tied. (Is it just me or does that seem to be more the norm than the exception lately?)

Y’all might think this is weird, but what’s exciting for me (maybe even more exciting than the win) is my 11th place! It was the last spot I needed to complete my “1st-25th card” (1st-31st technically). I don’t know why 11th took so long but every time I thought I had it, I’d end up in either 10th or 12th instead.

I think you’re entirely within your rights, ennui, and are being pretty reasonable about it by only asking for attribution. Even though it’s a photo of their art, it’s YOUR photo of their art and they can either produce their own or attribute yours.

What about flash? You can make sure pretty cool shots with second curtain flash, but I’m not sure that’s your intent. If not, you might wanna be explicit about it in the theme description.

Ennuipoet and CISS wound up in a three-way with Elsinore last night? If that doesn’t put a big smile on those guys faces, I don’t know what will 😆

Well, I’d always imagined my first three-way would be more of the MFF variety (no offense, ennui ;)), but even so, yeah, I’m grinning from ear to ear. Although both of them were gone by the time I got up this morning without even so much as a note on the nightstand… 😥

    And whoa…three way tie held!

Weird, eh? We don’t see a three-way for 5 years and then 2 within a couple of months.

Congrats Els and ennui, and thanks, everyone, for the votes! This one’s even sweeter ’cause I had so much fun with the theme.

most people dread the idea of 12+ hours x-country. I do them solo

We lived in NC for most of the kids’ early lives so it was an 18 hour drive home for Christmas. When they were younger, we’d head out about 11PM and drive straight through so that they’d sleep through most of it. Now, anything under 10 hours or so seems like a trip to the corner store.

So much this. It’s the main reason I go back to the desert (or forest or mountains or ad infinitum) repeatedly. It cleanses my soul.

There’s way too much agreement going on here. We’re going to have to have us a midwestern Farktographers meet-n-greet campout at some point.

The one thing I really enjoyed about my hand injury years ago was the 5 days in a la-z-boy whacked out of my mind on codeine watching HBO for hours on end… the bliss of it all….

There’s something about forced down-time, isn’t there? I think, for me at least, that it’s the complete guiltfree-ness of it; I mean, you literally could not be doing anything else productive during that stretch of time so you might as well just sit back and enjoy the ride, so to speak. That “otherwise occupied” feelling is a also good part of why I enjoy long road trips.

Yikes! I didn’t realize it was bad enough to require surgery. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Hey Els, hackhix’s entry here is a repost of his Passenger’s Side entry here. I recognize it because I liked the original entry but also because he’s tried to repost it a couple of other times.

CISS & hunches, some great B’s in there!

Thanks, ‘Cuda! I had a really hard time discarding some of those B’s, especially the first 4. In the end, I decided to go with a theme and let that drive my selections; otherwise, I’d probably still be trying to choose. 🙂

Here’s a link to my 17 bees (like I said before, I had a blast with this one!). Mopsy, I’ve got a version of Chicago Island in there, too.

Is anyone else seeing faces in some of these?

Wow, interesting; can’t wait to see these because my entries tonight are all based on a pareidolia theme.
