I think this could be a classic for “Tableau: Iconic images exist in every culture. Take a photograph evoking one of them.” Is that the kinda thing you were thinking of for this one?

I must be blind, rav. I see Facebook “Like” and Google +1 buttons (neither of which I do so I can’t help there), but I’m not seeing a thumb icon… ?

Edit after Els’s post: Ah. Nevermind then.

I’m not sure I know what y’all are talking about with the link voting – is that a TF thing?

I’m hoping my response will nip that kind of thing in the bud.

See, that’s why I couldn’t be a mod. You were much more diplomatic in your response than I would’ve been. My response would’ve been something like, “Perhaps we should (define creativity); we certainly don’t need to work on the definition of douchebag because you’ve got that down pat.” And then I would’ve deleted his entries. 🙂

    Speaking of deleting entries…

I sure hope you posted that so that we could all laugh WITH you, ’cause I’m laughing and I’m going to feel bad if it turns out to be AT you. 😆

But no remote shutter release cable? Good grief, man, you’re in NYC, hie thee to B&H and buy a cheap one for $5.

Apparently, if you have the props, people assume you’re a “photographer”.

That’s exactly what I’ve found. If you look like you know what you’re doing (or have the equipment to imply so), people assume that you’re a professional. As long as you don’t let it go to your head and start believing it yourself, I think that’s an advantage when shooting events. 🙂

Anyway, congrats on your first sale. I’d say the happiness of your “customers” is all the indication needed to call it a success!

Oh, I fully understand what you’re saying and where you’re coming from, ennui. I guess I’ve just seen so much of this crap, along with all the TSA “security theater”, with no signs that the govt will regain any sense of sanity anytime soon, that I’ve just grown weary of it. Aside from voting for reasonable people or running myself (not gonna happen), I’m not sure what to do about it.

While the policy itself raises my ire and the idea of being detained for photography pegs my rage-o-meter, after reading the article this particular situation is not quite as bad as it initially seemed. Turns out the cop just asked what he was doing, checked his ID, and then let him go on about his business, including taking more photos.

I know it could’ve turned out differently, but I’ll save my rage for the cases where they actually turn people away from photographing things or try to tell them it’s illegal. It’s likely just me, but I wouldn’t really care if asked to ID myself as long as that’s as far as it went and I was allowed to continue without hassle. Of course, now they’ve likely got a record of you, so if you’re paranoid about that kind of thing, it could be problematic, I suppose.

Well, I saw Blue Oyster Cult & Foghat, but they’re more fading stars than shooting stars. 😉 Seriously though, it was clouded over & raining (which we greatly need). I’m not sure it’s possible to see a meteor shower in OK unless it’s cold enough to freeze your breath.

Els, in case you missed it, what kyuzokai meant by his comment in the thread of “Thanks for the link… I made a boo-boo!” is that he re-used a past entry. This one was previously used in Farkitol 100mg.

Yeah, it does (stink, that is). Looking at his/her portfolio, he’s got some really stunning nature shots. Sure hope he shows back up for “Wild Things”.
