After all the complaining about voting, the final voting tally is actually pretty “normal”. With 2nd place at 32 votes its actually more votes than a couple of my winning entries garnered in other contests.

Well I screwed up and attributed the theme to the wrong person. Sorry about that Yugoboy, I’ve fixed it above now. From the original suggestion he said “National Parks, State Parks, City Parks, Ballparks, Water Parks, Art Parks, Public Parks, Botanical Parks etc. ” so I think if you could call it a “park” in any form, it’s g2g.

Except parking lots. Specifically banned.

I realise that I haven’t been around for a while, but this strikes me as a pretty low participation contest….60 entries?!

Nothing but cool stuff (although some do stand out a little more) and really low voting – some worthies getting zip at this stage. Is it just me, or has something changed?

Yeah, ever since Fark went to the “two button vote” system, our voting has dropped significantly. They just went back to a single button a few weeks ago and there was an improvement in voting. This kind of theme requires extra work and preparation though, so I won’t be surprised to see under 100 entries and low voting, since low participation usually means lower voting.

Yeah fine. We were picking an arbitrary amount to try to prevent people doing the full scale mosaics.

We did “Waterscapes” on 9/1/10 so we’re approaching the 2 year mark. By the time this would be scheduled it would be fine, if we get critical mass.

You can make this just “bugs” if you want. It’s your suggestion. I don’t think you want to ban macro pics considering most bug pictures fall in that category.

Macro Bugs was last done 6/2/10 so you’re right in line for the 2 year mark. Regular bugs is older.
