Participant😳 That last comment of mine sounds about a thousand times snottier than it is intended. I just think there is room for all of it. Variety is the spice and all of that.

ParticipantThanks Artic. That is a beautiful photo.
Morningbreath, I’ve been using the free version of photomatix and then I just use Photoshop Elements to get rid of the watermark. I’ve also had some luck shooting with cropping in mind. If you aren’t looking to make a huge print there is some leeway there. You can get some pretty wild results if you want, but you can also just make a good image better. Go nuts, have fun. I’m totally addicted to the process/results.

ParticipantWhy does it have to be an either/or question? There are 52 Wednesdays every year and I think there is room for both.
I, personally, won’t have anything to contribute to the cute kid theme, but I’m looking forward to the thread. I’m sure I will be grinning from ear to ear. It should be a lot of fun!
I do enjoy a challenge, but a theme like you described for forks sounds too much like school to me. I’m not saying it’s a bad idea, but I guess I come here for different reasons. *shrug* just my 02 cents.

ParticipantAwesome folks. No hug smiley either Elsinore or I’d be giving you one too! 😀

ParticipantIt didn’t crash, it was killed. 🙁 We may be down, but we’re not out.

Participantproblem with that is, if you show a guy with a hammer you think
carpenter
or you show a guy with a scalpel you think doctor
but if you show a guy picking a pocket, how are you supposed to know whether it’s a congressman or a lawyer?
Dead intern? Ambulance? Okay that was lame, but your joke did remind me of an old favorite.
What’s the difference between a pickpocket and a peeping Tom?
One snatches watches…

ParticipantSounds good to me. 🙂

ParticipantI’m with veruca and Monkeybort in feeling that there is a significant amount of alteration. No matter how you might try to justify it it is not a straight forward photograph. Maybe you could post one of the exposures for this contest and save the HDR for an anything goes sort of theme.

Participant9th place is great, and that is a gorgeous photo of Graves Peak. Really gorgeous. Actually, the whole thread was amazing, thanks for the walk down memory lane. 🙂

ParticipantI don’t know where you can get it fixed, but if the camera means anything to you, go for it. I’m getting a complete overhaul on an old Pentax ME that will cost more than replacing it, but it has sentimental value, so it’s worth it to me.

ParticipantThanks for all the hard work Schnee! 8)

ParticipantSince I can’t be here tonight I thought I would show you what sort of graffiti you might find in my neck of the woods.
I’ve seen several of these “It’s all good” thingies around here:

At the hospital parking lot:

That’s about it! Have fun tonight!

ParticipantDamn that sucks. I can still remember wandering around inside before they imploded the thing and thinking that I should take one of the old bed frames. I really wish I had now.
