Awesome. Just like riding a bike eh? Are those stones of some kind in the 3rd pic? It looks like an alien. So does the 4th pic for that matter.

Those cityscapes from the 4th are gorgeous!

I think it might be in the farq that you must be weird to join the club. I know how it feels to be in a slump, but not when it comes to photography. It’s the one constant in my life. No matter how crappy I feel I can always “get lost” in taking pictures. If you are still in a slump, I am ordering you right now to go out and take a couple of shots. Of anything. I have a feeling that once you start you will be right back into the swing of things. 🙂 DO IT!

Congrats Monkeybort! Awesome pic. Love the Rev, and by the way, if you ever see anybody using a chrome zippo at one of his shows with an engraving of “Smoke ’em if you got ’em” on it, it’s mine! My name is also on it. Damn thief…

Welcome to the forum CarolA! That really is a great pic and I agree with veruca about the Norman Rockwell quality of it.

Poop. Before I noticed that you said “voted-on entry” I did a count and came up with this as the 126th image in the thread.

Yowzers, indeed. 8) I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for over a year already. The older I get, the less time I have, the faster it goes…

I’m not crazy about the practice, but if it’s going to be allowed, it has to be the same rule for everybody. Just my 2 cents…

I’ve had great luck with two dye sub printers – an Olympus P-440 that makes glorious 8x10s and a cheapo HiTi that makes passable 4x6s. The dye sub process makes continuous tone images more silver like than injet like. Never had a customer complaint.

Wow landseer18, that printer kicks all kinds of ass for a pretty reasonable price. Thanks for the info. Any suggestions for a good paper to use?

Actually there isn’t much choice. Paper for each printer is made just for that printer – HiTi comes in a kit with printer and ribbon, Olympus is separate but a non-standard size so that it feeds properly. Do have to trim those but not a big issue.

Ah, okay. So where I saw a price of about 40 dollars for the ribbon, that would include the paper?

And for anyone that doesn’t know, Screaming in Digital is the one who started Farktography, so I’m more than happy to give any new ideas he might come up with a chance. 🙂
