ParticipantHaving seen it happen and my friend saying he couldn’t pee for 3 days I will believe him first and the Mythbusters only when they show me in person. When I watch one of them directly pee on a electric fence and not get zapped. I remember that one and they used human analogues didn’t they? aka ballistic gel dummies.

ParticipantLet me guess, this is how it happened.
My brother did that. Peed on a bush which had grown up and around the electric fence wire.
The results were… spectacular.
My best friend in high school did the exact same thing! Hell he didn’t even know there was a fence there. lol.

ParticipantThanks SilverStag and kestrana. That’s my favorite of the three also. hence it being at the top.
Oh and Plama I would chose the first one also.lokisbong
Participantoh no fun. Although filth can photogenic right? Here it’s all gravel and sage brush (several varieties!) and jack rabbits and little cactus and other sharp and pointy plants.

ParticipantThat’s exactly what I think of when I think of orionids photos. The second is probably the one I had flash through my brain. And ennuipoet I would choose the little hero dude first and stick with the color version. but you only gave me two choices. That’s my two cents so far.

ParticipantSo you live in central Nevada too? lol I love it here unless I want to go to a walmart type store or camera store.

ParticipantIn other news, Silverstag, I think this one should be yours:
Yes, I like that one a lot.
Come on guys, let’s see your choices!
I will as soon as I get three picked out. Working on that now.

ParticipantDoes Flickr compress images and thereby reduce the quality?
The resized images on flickr have sharpening added, for sure (you can see it clearly if you upload an image the same size as one of their standard sizes and check the original vs the sized version). But they aren’t highly compressed – quite the opposite, the quality setting on the resized images is quite high – the 640 px ones are often unreasonably large for use in Farktography
Which is why I resize each entry down to 640 wide and reduce image quality down to 100 kb or so. The don’t change those usually. I then post the 640 version and usually link to the full size version in a popable link.

ParticipantKick Ass orionid. I have a few of those bookmarked now.

ParticipantWell Damn I like all three of those a lot. But I think it would be a coin flip between b and c.

ParticipantA natural stone wall is kosher correct? The stones cut and stacked, perhaps concreted together but definitely natural stone.
I would certainly think that would be fine.

ParticipantI saw this earlier and wanted to post it, but had to go out. I thought it was a fascinating study. Maybe we should do something like that here.
I’m game. are we talking our best vote getter or just our personal favorite? you suggest it and I will up vote it for sure either way. The pictures are really cool in that way of showing the photographer and his or her most famous shot.
OK, how do we decide ‘most famous’?
I was thinking our best vote getter or just our personal favorite to open it up more for the casual types. Or if you actually have a “famous” picture ala one that has been published if it’s legal.
