Argh! I can’t believe I forgot to post last night! I thought I might have finally had a chance to break my streak of low-vote contests, but it looks like it was not meant to be.

One of my entries got dropped as well (the Woolworth one). No worries if it’s too late to fix it; it was a late entry and not a great one at that. Not sure what happened. It’s not even all that close to the limit (130 kb), and my other two entries which were uploaded at the same time both still work.

My sincerest condolences to Orionid and pangolyn’s family. I didn’t really know her at all, but she was somehow still one of my favorite people around here. She will be missed.

Meh, that is just my BB gun. I didn’t want to make a lot of noise, like my .45 would have.

Mine’s a .357 magnum. I have a pump 12 gauge, but it proved to be too difficult to handle while taking photos.

I’m really surprised at how well I’m doing this week. I almost didn’t even bother entering…

I think it is just more people know of the porcelain goddess. I spent a fair bit of time yesterday explaining the back story of the FSM to people (can I get a ramen?).

I had to explain Pastafarianism to my religions of mankind prof. I don’t think she understood at all. She was willing to accept this as the premise for a real religion. As my mother always says, “Don’t be so open minded that your brains fall out.”

Argh. I was so close to getting my first first place finish. I was tied for first when I went to bed and woke up to find that the porcelain goddess has more followers than the FSM. Then again, it makes sense: I have sacrificed my dinner of noodles to the porcelain goddess on certain libatious occasions.

I had lots of ideas for this week, but my new camera is still in transit. Stupid ice storms.

I just set my white balance using a receipt, envelope, piece of paper, etc. I hardly ever bother with the pre-set white balance modes.

I shoot 3 MP for two reasons:
1-I generally crop/resize down to 640×480 anyway
2-File Sizes

I agree 100%, sleeping. If I could get the Panasonic lens on the Canon body, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

So, no other recommendations for a ~$200-250 P&S?

I haven’t dropped it or exposed it to moisture lately. I was actually using it when it started doing this. I walked out from under a carport to get a picture of my cousins playing football, and everything went to crap when I went from shade to sunlight.

After a bit of digging, I found out that it may have a bit of warranty left after all. I’ll probably take a few shots with it as-is, store them away for a fitting contest, then ship it in to be fixed or refunded. I really hope it gets fixed, because I only paid $60 for it, and I probably can’t replace it for that.

Edit: It messes up more often if I give the case a gentle squeeze over in the upper right corner, next to where all of the buttons are.
