ParticipantMy vote is for seats (or something else in the hopper that’s open like that), partially because I think it could be pulled off faster by most folks, and partially because I think it’d make far less of a mess of the schedule anyway (less confusion, less work for Els, etc.).
I’m cool either way though

Participantwe actually have chairs and water around Sacramento, lol.

ParticipantI have an idea, at least. Though, I don’t know if I can get it done in time. If the majority is ready, well, the majority rules.
Personally, this one came out of thin air at me.
But as far as suggestions, I dunno. There were a couple that had been in the queue that I had expected to hit first.

ParticipantThanks Els. 🙂

ParticipantThe nearest aquarium is 90 miles away. So, I have to go with alternate plans. And, a little luck 😛

Participantflickr has been hiccuping for a lot of people lately, it seems. Elsinore can fix it for you

ParticipantI agree about that Monroe shot.
I think it captures every aspect of her personality. It’s “real” though it may not be one of her “pretty” shots.
Edward Weston is also someone who inspires me (or “aspires”?) Particularly his photos of Charis.

ParticipantI’m not totally sure, but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen his name around here recently.

ParticipantThis has nothing to do with this week’s theme. But I found this tonight and am captivated –
I haven’t seen that site in particular, but I can’t imagine where you got the idea 😉
–edit: that shot of Monroe has been haunting me for a few days now.

Participantravnostic. the short answer is either an OpenVPN install on one of the servers, or replacing the wireless router with one that has the capability and putting that in in parallel with the main server. I haven’t decided yet.
/either way, I want to split the main server traffic from our personal internet traffic, and I have two tubes, so…olavf
ParticipantWe need to do massive amounts of work on the front end. Fortunately, since I have a spare server, we’re going to be able to do the development off-line, and roll in changes as we like, and as they work. Gallery will probably remain the back-end because it’s really stable (and to be honest, there a lot (A LOT) of websites that use it. Even for pr0n). For the front end, I started playing with NVU http://net2.com/nvu/ a while back and it seems pretty snappy (and free…w00t!). so we’ll end up with a combination of code somewheres. What I’m not sure on is how to start doctoring the CSS stuff to get me where I want to be, but all in good time…
edit – the NVU version I was playing with was not the version that wants you to host shiat on intuit’s servers.

ParticipantI *know* they have to have the equivalent in Japan…

ParticipantPS I don’t know how to click for bigger. I use flickers HTML but it doesn’t seem to link.
Causel’s is probably easier, but I copy and paste the address of the 640 px as well as the larger version to the scratchpad. I then use the ‘Image’ tool for the first one and the ‘Link (new window)’ tool for the larger one. I then cut and paste the first one into the “Link” part of the second one.
Clear as mud? Good.

In regards to the other question – are you using Photoshop?
I have a text file that I just make a copy of, and replace the links and text. Makes it easier for me to remember the formatting I like 😛
