    damn U-Man, congrats.

And here I was getting all excited about nearly having two top tens 😛
    //by one lousy vote, too.

    Next week indeed… 😉

Almost wasn’t going to enter this week, but then I found my Boot Hill folder…

    Love the headstones.

We found some funny ones, but the graveyard was mostly full of morans.

The local historic cemetery is somewhat of a tourist attraction and definitely a draw for photographers – when we were down there on Saturday I saw at least five or six other people wandering around with cameras.

The graveyard at Coloma, CA was a real trip though. It’s literally the first Gold Rush town in CA, and the Catholic cemetery was surprisingly small. And a good number of the graves were literally unmarked. Well, save a shallow depression and some fake flowers that someone had tastefully placed.

Others, like one of my b-sides (most likely) had just minimal and cryptic markings.

    .

Elsinore the ones that got to me this weekend were the ones where mother and child(ren) were buried together as all three had obviously not made it through labor :/

The ‘cool’ graveyard here locks the gates at 4pm now, thanks to the budget cuts. thankfully we went earlier in the day and were basically done when the guard told us it was time to get the heck out.

Got a few decent pics. Nothing creepy though, ’cause that’s hard to do during the day.
/wanted to go last weekend but the ten year old was all ‘nuh-uhh! not taking *me* there’ :/

I am actually feeling quite good about my entries this week but that has no relation to the amount of votes I am going to receive, of course.

    Same here 😛

Actually I got a couple of shots yesterday that aren’t appropriate for this contest, but I like nonetheless. The local historic cemetery is, in some areas, basically a garden that also has dead people. It’s really pretty.

83% of spouses don’t consider being date-raped by a stapler cheating, and any comments you might get from the people at work are just jealousy.

    That’s *definitely* a good thing to know…

yeah, I can see how that would put a damper on things :/

Actually that begs a question… would something that was rotated 180 degrees, but otherwise be untouched be kosher?

    *sigh* I expected more co-eds in sleepwear…

still, looks like a fun time 🙂

oh, shiat man. I’m sorry. 🙁

As has been suggested have you tried a used one? ebay and/or amazon…

I got a pretty decent deal on a refurb 40D from the latter which has the missus all atwitter over my old 20D 😉

We haven’t had quite that problem, but a funny one happened yesterday – Kat did her scratchpad stuff not too long after I did and she could see my posts – I’d used her computer for a couple of weeks last year when I was sans laptop

orionid: Just for future and general reference, the subject is Fark safe/legal, but I would defer to U-Man on it being too human.

My guess would be awesome, but too human.
/on that note, wish I’d taken pics when I was in the bone chapel at Halstaat a few years back :/

If I had a better lens, I would not even need to leave my computer for this contest.

That light differential will get you every time :/

I was just looking at one of my b-sides upside down (rotated 180), and I may end up using that just out of sheer perversity.

I am surprised at how high I am on those charts, since I don’t consider many of my recent entries to be that good. I just enter as much as I can, which helps totals but hurts averages.

For this contest, I am going to have to look around for stuff, like streets and other stuff near my apartment.

yeah, I know I’ve had a couple of good ones lately – I think I’m at six top tens now, but I thought I was just too inconsistent to be doing that well overall…

Definitely not going to be a theme for my shots this week… I’ve got at least two, and they couldn’t be in more opposite directions.
