ParticipantUmmm… not Aztec, but I got some Mayan pyramids I got to climb a few years ago. If allowable I’d dig ’em up and use ’em… unfortunately, not alive… 🙁
(BTW – if you want to be able to climb and enter and generally interact with Mayan architecture, you gotta get off the beach and away from Tikal and Chichen Itza. Sure it’s a couple hours inland, but oh so worth it.)
Uxmal and Dzibilchaltun are very nice. The second one as a Cenote at the end of the tour. Nothing like going for a swim after seeing the ruins.

ParticipantI think the majority of pictures represent our photography without doing those things. Heck, due to a kick-arse clean-room cloth wiping process, I didn’t even have to do any dust deletes (which would have been totally kosher to do.)
Wait, dust editing was kosher?
I spent 30 minutes cleaning the surface of my scanner glass after the first attempt, only to realize that the dust was on the interior face of the glass.

ParticipantSo we’re all on the same page, right?
Right. And cars are alive, right?
They consume, they excrete, they are mobile, modern ones even have brains that think
They still don’t reproduce though.
wanna bet?
Until I see little Smart cars waddling away, it didn’t happen.
How many nested quotes can we get?
At some point they’ll collapse in on themselves and form a black quote hole.
I wanna see that in a twisted kinda way 😈
A hole from which no substance can escape.
Past the point of no return.
Would it help if we divided by zero?
do
{
quote(last_post);
}
while (true);I’m dizzy now…thanks!
Just wait until Elsinore gets back.
So will the forum engine start line wrapping the earlier ones at some point?
Wheres my black quote hole?
Improbability passing 10,000 to 1. Passing 100,000 to 1. Passing 1,000,000 to 1. Approaching infinite improbability. Standby.
You know, it kind has that Mayan temple thing goin’ on now. Xtapolopacetl is pleased.
U-Man‘s original post is getting narrower, but not as quickly as I might have thought. Perhaps there’s a quantum effect in force.
Keep going, guys! I think if we compress the first quote enough, we might be able to finally discover the Higgs-Boson.
Oh good Lord.
/still playing along
I must get in on this experiment
*crunch*
3Well it would seem we are definitely all on the same page now! Question answered U-Man
Woohoo! U-Man’s text shrank.
I wonder if the next nested quote shrinks too.
I wonder what this stepped pyramid looks like in side-elevation…
Are you mad? The human mind can’t cope with that kind of horror!!!
Hope mrgreen doesn’t break the thread!This is too funny!
I’d say so, but I’m easily amused.
Simple things for simple minds?
Man, this is still going on,… Shouldn’t you people be out photographing something?
We are approaching the point not even light can escape!
I say we keep moving forward, beyond the event horizon

ParticipantI have no issues with interior shots.

ParticipantWell, unless she has a storefront no; however, a Rub ‘n’ Tug would be admissible (maybe NSFW, but admissible)

ParticipantI’m going with this definition: A place where goods and services are exchanged for money.
Yugoboy, TL;DR version: yes.

ParticipantRav, awesome pics this week.
I laughed when I saw the ferris wheel with the line drawing on it.

ParticipantWell, the only county fair pictures I have are from Los Alamos, 2008. It’s such a peculiar county that it doesn’t seem to belong in New Mexico. The fair there has more of a scientific leaning than agricultural. I’m going to put up what I’ve got and let the voters decide.
I would kind of expect that at Los Alamos, along with glow in the dark foods.
Pope_Larry_II
ParticipantI have a pretty good B-side for this, unfortunately the pic is a little too blurry for the contest. Now the upside is there is a YouTube video of the incident.

ParticipantEnnnuipoet, as I mentioned up thread, this was intended to be about the ‘local’ agricultiral festival. (I use the word local loosely). However, at this point I think I’ll ease up on that definition and let street fairs and makers faire go and let the voters decide.
Pope_Larry_II
ParticipantMy intent was for it to be the local agricultural exhibit. Where I am, at the end of summer/fall there are agricultural fairs, where people used to exhibit what they’ve grown that year (or raised in the case of livestock). Now it’s more of a carnival with rides (and demolition derbies).
Although I think I’d like to go to a Maker Faire, it is not what I had in mind for the contest.
Pope_Larry_II
ParticipantI can’t say I’ve ever been hassled taking pictures of any buidlings, public or private, and I’ve taken a lot of pictures of buildings (mostly for work).
