ParticipantI’m all for the added difficulty, mostly because it takes me out of my confort zone.
/I do Farktography to expand my skills, getting votes is just a by-product.

ParticipantTo give you an idea of what I thought should be included here are two fairs at opposite ends of the spectrum that I would consider to be okay.

ParticipantGambitsgirl, I really like the shots and the story. My mom passed away about 18 months ago, this contest was the first time I’ve been to a cemetery since the funeral. It was difficult for me too.

ParticipantI use IrfanView for minor colour corrections and cropping. I have GIMP for more heavy duty work, but I rarely use it.
IrfanView is free, so it fits in with my cheapness.

ParticipantJudging by the Flickr previews I can see, it looks like the competition will be stiff this week.
/I’m here all week, try the veal.

ParticipantIwanttoo… The intent was to take pictures of the stuff that goes on at the fair; rides, horse shows, exhibitions, etc. I may be difficult to convey that idea with pictures of buildings.

Participantaspidites, your work is amazing. I dread seeing what you’re going to come up with for “Wild Things.” Actually, I don’t dread seeing them, just going up against them in the contest. 🙂
I think if you had’ve entered that second eagle B-side (_X0U7896Eagle.jpg), you very likely could’ve been looking at tied #1’s.
You mentioned shooting for a calendar – is photography your career?
Holy crap, that’s an amazing photo aspidites. Yeah, you’d be taking the top 3 if you had entered it.

ParticipantEnnuipoet, I’m treating this as contest about Industrial Architecture. I assume that the intent is to photograph bridges, dams, water treatment plants, etc.

ParticipantThere are some really good and creative entries this week. I think it’s going to be tough to win.
The quality is top notch (again)… at a quick glance, I’d say a top 10 is out of the question for me this week and, as ever, I’m already wondering if I shouldn’t have used one or more of my B’s.
Oh, I think your bird one will do well.

ParticipantUnfortunately my ‘new’ Pentax K1000 is dead, and I cannot afford to fix it right at the moment, this contest will be an an archive dive. Lucky for me I have trips to Paris, Amsterdam and Chicago to choose from.

ParticipantI will not dispute the lack of taste throughout Urban Dictionary.
Here is another questionably tasteful, yet less blockable link
http://www.google.com/search?q=o+face&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1056&bih=600I just though the reason was funny. For some reason my office has parts of the internets locked down, with Websense.

ParticipantJust in case you need to know what an “O Face” might look like:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=O+FACEWhen I click the link it’s blocked. Reason: “Tasteless”

ParticipantI post them more or less randomly. Sometimes I’ll post them in the order that I like them, but most often it’s random.
