Easy enough to do quickly (and undo as well), but I’m going to try to think of a way to make it both omni-directional and be able to hold a fixed position. That might take longer.

Yay! 4 day weekend, short project to complete, resulting in new photographic toy-goodness…and just in time for the contest! I bet I’ll take 1000 pictures. One of them ought to be worth some votes…

Holy farkola! sleeping, you are a God among men (or women, as the case may be.) Why did I go to this sale? Because I wanted Elsinore‘s TS lens toy at a price I could afford. I was going for a medium format lens, which as I said, some schmoe came in and got before I did. I figured this to be too small.

I tried to toy with the lens briefly but thought I couldn’t focus far away with it, and it was too small anyway, to make something of it–but it was a cool macro, at least.

But what you just wrote made me give it a second look (so to speak). I need to hold this lens closer to the camera body (with no other lens, just the body.) And lo and behold–I got a tilt shift lens! Without even having any ‘framework’ at all, just holding it, I got the effect! [beams with joy!!]

I’ll grant you–these are crappy shots. I just stuck my head out the door and took them. My apartment complex isn’t scenic. But by gum, here are my very first two TS shots, evar!

Needs work–taste like freeze dried chicken.

I’m going to be a tired puppy at work tonight. Like I’m going to sleep now! I’m going to play!

I can get another for cheap online. I think I’d rather bastidize (TM Orionid) it. After all, I have the instructions right here…

Hey, guess what I just came across at an estate sale (along with some other things). I don’t think it’s ever been used. Came with instruction book, warranty card, order form for 3-d processing, mailing instruction card, and a sample 3-d print (which is actually pretty cool.)

This will be fun! Probably won’t get to it till after the holidays, though.

And orionid, how’d you do the vignetting in your Native Spirit? Is that a “feature” of the Holga or did you take specific action to create it? Either way, I really like it.

You’ve got stats on votes by time? How cool! Is that just a cumulative thing, or can it be done per individual? That’s something I’d like to see.

I just have ONE question for everyone who posted a macro/close shot of their cats (Rav!) howinhell did you convince the cat to stay still long enough to compose and shoot? My cats SEE a camera and they become furry blurs.
