I spent a bunch of time recently on other photo stuff and haven’t spent as much mental energy on farktography as I usually do. It is time to go play with the family but I might get an epiphany for a photo selection and ask Els to pull one of my three. 🙂 That said, I have no idea what the rusty INSURANCE barn is made out of. If you all think it is tin and not ferrous I’ll be happy to pull it and select something else.

Congrats to fluffybunny for the individual and combined 1st’s. And to you to ZE. Not only is that a kick-ass album cover, but you executed well.

Fun theme. I wouldn’t mind doing something similar but with more flexibility in photo size and choice.

Thanks for the comment ZE. I liked how the Floyd-Nyan cat came out. It might be too obscure for a mass of voters though. Plus the stuff that placed in front of it is solid.

Zero, I’m really surprised by what appears to be a low participation. I can understand those whose lives came between them and their camera, but as to the difficulty, I just don’t see it. There have been far more difficult themes that still have had good participation. I think it’s just a fluke and you should not feel bad.

While I agree with the sentiment, this is coming from the lady with milk crates full of LP’s in her basement. 🙂

btw – All of my LP’s are at Mopsy’s. I didn’t buy anything new. I printed a CD size cover, cut it out and glued it to a cut up cereal box. I did the same with an 11 x 11 inch “LP-size”.

Yes, but, and this is important, did you actually de-seed any cannabis on it? 😀

Not since about 20 years ago. I can’t speak for what Mopsy does with my albums though.

This is an uncomfortable position… The theme states, “Photos using album covers from records, CDs, tapes, 8-track, or 78’s to create an illusion”. If other photos were allowable, I think that decision would have to be made before this evening. Otherwise it is unfair.

That’s my opinion. I’m not married to it and won’t cry if the consensus goes the other way though.

Given that I’m not going to be participating as I have nothing and am not planning on doing anything in the next 4.75 hours you can ignore me, but my vote is for the option I’ve left in.

There’s a lesson in here somewhere, and if we figure out what it is, we won’t end up with this angst next time a theme with such specificity and difficulty is proposed.

Cool. Thanks. The one did with the 11 x 11 album used a 5 year old model and she can be difficult and expensive to work with. 🙂

ZE – I have ideas. I have less time than I want. I can’t make my ideas work with CD size pics. I don’t want to Kinkos to print a 12.4 inch photo. I would like to print the left and right sides of an album cover at 11.5 inches (29.2 cm) and glue them to cardboard. I think this fits the spirit of the theme (and farktography) but I don’t want to ass-u-me anything.

Can I get a ruling? Any others want to chime in?
