I’m finally going to be ready beforehand for one of these. I’ve been shooting various drill bits and other pointy things in my workshop. Now watch me totally space out and forget to post on Wednesday.

Lashing is a type of knot where you wrap around the object several times to secure it. A granny knot is slang for ‘whatever knot you happen to know, tie a bunch’. Granny knots are often a stack of square knots.

Remember, the first rule of knots is “if you don’t know knots, tie lots”.

Yeah, I have a Flickr account too (same name as here), I mainly use marold.org out of habit, and because it’s easy to type the urls because I know what they’re going to be.

The support people said it was due to a problem “with all your httpd processes being used up”. I guess they just couldn’t handle the crush of lots of people loading the thread. They said they upped the number of httpd processes for me, hopefully they can keep up.

Are my pictures showing up ? They were fine last night but when I checked the thread this morning they aren’t loading, and I can’t get to my host via http. However we have a very crappy internet connection at work so I can’t rule that out.
