We’ve been watching our oldest (dog) go from perky to declining over the last few days. About half an hour ago, it was over. Over 14 years of perky joy and energy is now over, and it’s going to be goddamned hard for my wife to get over.

We had to get Jodee after we were forced to give up our 2 beautiful samoyeds due to my wife’s inability to handle their weight and strength after she was violently clobbered by a drunk driver and injured for life.

Even worse, my wife is at work, and has to spend the next couple hours grieving at work before she can come home. I told her to call in, but she couldn’t. All the other supervisors are also “in the field.”

    This just sucks.

I’m kinda wondering about this one myself. . .

The only truly hideous buildings around here are in rather unsavory neighborhoods.

Here’s the 4 I’ve processed so far. All 4 have a diffuser glow. Sue me. 2 of them were filter-produced, 2 were PS’ed. I’m going to work on a few more, but I only want/need a few for portfolio purposes. He can do the post-processing if he wants.

This is the only one that was totally my idea. All the others were a result of him doing the posing. He was also the focus of looks and attention for the poses – it’s the way both of us wanted. My job was mainly to provide options, cover candids at the reception and other assorted “stuff.”

    Yugo – Whereabouts in VA?

Far west. Staying in eastern TN, but we do go afield. We’d love to meet you if you’re up for a road trip. PM if you’re interested.

Given that I still haven’t gotten to the GD post office, and the box stares at me every day from the table making me feel guiltier, meeting might be a decent idea. 😉

    Mineral Wells, Lavon 2&3.

    Just my opinion.

If I didn’t tell you, the guy decided to hire me. 😉

Just got done with my first wedding. Nice and small and short. Heck, it was smaller than my wedding, which is saying something.

It was the second marriage for both, so the stress was down a bit. This was my boss’ first digital wedding. He’s getting back to the game after many years out of the game. Fortunately, he bought a Nikon, so I was able to help him with some stuff. He’s definitely old school, in that he’s got the film mentality of trying to get each shot right as it went into the camera – which is good – but it can be a bit slower than I’m used to. He did help me by walking through every step of what he did. I definitely have to be more assertive next time. I’m very passive-aggressive, so I’ll shoot anybody doing anything, just don’t make me talk to them, ya know?

Anyway, I shot +/-400 pix in the 4-ish hours we were there. I operate a bit more on the “even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then” system with digital. I’ll post a few after I get a chance to post-process. I’m happy with what I did, and I think I really have some decent shots.

So far he doesn’t have any more scheduled, but I’m fairly certain he’ll have me back when he does. It’s not that I want to be a wedding shooter, but I definitely want to improve the skills one needs to be one.

It’s an old manual lens, probably the kit lens for my old FE. If/when I go back to using that camera, I’m more likely to use the 28-70 or one of the screw mounts with the T-adapter.

I wouldn’t think of trying to do this with anything as complicated as an AF, not with mw propensity for mucking things up on the first try.

I actually have a 50mm I wanna try this on. Any clue how to tell me how to unscrew the lens the way he did, without breaking anything? I tried a few weeks ago and got scared and stopped before anything budged. . . or broke.

I’ve been pricing Lens Babies and tilt-shifts on Amazon and figure this has got to be worth a try.

Actually, I’m pretty sure this isn’t a classic. We’ve done food related themes before, but nothing specific to fruits and vegetables only. Was trying for something general that we hadn’t done before.

May 17, 2006 Fruits And Vegetables – Pictures of fruits and veggies – set up, still on the tree, still on the ground, in a store, in your fridge, etc.

I submitted this a couple months ago when the need was 10 and came up one short. Here’s hoping it flies this time.
