ParticipantTotal archive dive with not a whole lot to pick from this time around. Had my mind on other things the last few weeks.

ParticipantI’ve had outages before and it is frustrating when you can’t do anything but wait for the internet gods to give you their blessing to come back. I’m happy that it is back.
+1. After being in DNS hell recently with some work sites, I have much hate for all things server networking. I’m a software developer darn it, let me code and leave me be. 😆

ParticipantSorry about that. Again. Not Fark’s fault this time. I really need to get the scraper more automated so it’s not subject to the memory faults of its creator. Did I mention I’m turning 50 in a couple of weeks? 😉
If you want a hand with the coding (it is C# with some sort of SQL backend right?) I’ll be happy to lend a hand. Who do you host with? I had to get a little creative with my ‘automated’ jobs at VeloBase.com since I host with GoDaddy and don’t have any way of scheduling jobs outside of my web application on their servers. Message me and I can give you details on a few of my solutions if you want.

Participant^ ^ DOH! Completely correct. I was totally half asleep when I was getting my shots ready last night.

ParticipantA couple B’s:
Coin wrappers, does anyone still use these let alone change any more?

Nikkormat FTn – I know not quite as antiquated as some of y’all have when it comes to photo equipment. Maybe I should have dug out the flash that I can’t get the battery for.

Early 80’s SunTour Cyclone rear derailleur, opted to use the Campagnolo rear derailleur in contest as the ‘technology’ in this design is actually somewhat still in use today – just vastly improved and refined.

ParticipantGreat contest everyone, and congrats to both Linguine and oddmind. I am pleased with my 4th place on the expensive ass sunset shot (as the shoulder twinges a bit this morning with the cold).

ParticipantOil spots? WTF; Nikons get oil spots? Do you live near the La Brea Tar Pits, or Houston?
Mine seems to have a deep sump, since I clean and clean and still get crap like this and this. It’s bad enough I try not to shoot less than f11 anymore.
Damn, I change lenses on the fly like it’s going out of style and I don’t have near the dust/oil/crap show up at high f-stops as that shows. That would drive me absolutely batty. 😯

ParticipantI kind of like the burlap for the background, might try a B&W conversion or at least some white balance adjustments as the photos look a tad on the yellow side (indoor lighting does that).
Nice looking AR platform, I missed the boat on getting one ordered last fall like I was considering. Being a lefty finding one was difficult, now impossible.
orionid, nice set, a Ruger and S&W fan are we? I’ve got a couple Rugers, both in the pistol and long gun variety. No smiths or 1911’s yet for me, but one of those Ruger 1911’s keep calling my name.

w/ Yugoboy, lots of great photos, but isn’t that the norm?
Actually ended up not even using the photo that inspired this theme

ParticipantRav, always nice to bring some fresh work to the party. All three of mine are at least in the last year… then again so are 95% of all of my photos! 😆 Been busy on a few other photography tasks lately so not a lot of new stuff with farktography in mind happening right now. I did try to go with something different than the tree w/ sunset.

Participantrecent ex-smoker
Good for him.
Agreed. Though I think the victory goes to my sister. 😆
Two more that I got processed yesterday:

Participantthe sad thing is, I did whiten the teeth some already… recent ex-smoker.

ParticipantAgree on the smile, it was quite difficult to get a smile out of that wasn’t either forced or otherwise less than natural looking. That first photo was quite nearly the first photo taken that day, so it’s not like he was tired of smiling already. lol.

ParticipantA few samples from the shoot posted in the Gallery.

ParticipantI recall in the theme thread we decided that trees were in to keep it as open as possible.
