Thanks! I’ve looked into the diopters and extension tubes, and I’m thinking it might just be better all around to go for something like the Tamron 90mm f/2.8.

Ideally, I want the Nikon 85mm f/1.8 and the Nikon 105mm f/2.8 VR. The Tamron makes a reasonable compromise at approximately 35% of the total for the other two.

Correct. I’ve simply been aiming the one on the camera straight up at 1/128th power.

Yes. You stick the flash on the camera, enable your particular brand of high-speed sync, and trigger your other strobes from the PC connector on that flash.

It even works with Pocket Wizards – an acquaintance of mine has done it with remote Vivitar flashes on Pocket Wizards from a Nikon D200 with an SB-800 on-camera, triggering a Pocket Wizard from the PC port.

I’m moderately surprised that my shot of Briana and Leo isn’t doing better than it appears to be – anyone else ever think that their tastes in their own photos might be really, really skewed compared to vox populi?

Last time I saw that particular error, it was related to an authorization problem. Does the FSM authenticate to the Fark servers?

It’s always something… You all can blame me for the FSM issues. Since I didn’t forget to enable voting, and I’m actually getting some votes, of course something else would have to break – just to piss me off.
