Hmm, so is this a theme for “Odd stuff I saw that I took a picture of”, or “stuff that I wouldn’t have done if I didn’t have a camera”?
For the second one, setting a fountain pen on fire with a butane torch would be one example.
August 26, 2010 at 12:51 am #19055corsec67ParticipantA cool idea I had today is that the image on the front cover should have “Fark” incorporated into it, like this.
(Well, we would want one that did better than 18th place, so take something U-Man did)April 30, 2010 at 1:44 pm #27327corsec67ParticipantI’d think cropping over changing image size to keep things in the proper proportions?
Unless you want that “DVD being played in the wrong aspect ratio” look…
April 17, 2010 at 4:47 am #27200corsec67ParticipantThere’s a profile graph? Where is that?
Over here on the Farktography Statistics Manager
April 17, 2010 at 2:10 am #27196corsec67ParticipantYeah, as someone that hasn’t done that well in a while, even though I won a few contests more than a year ago, I am still here.
Since there is no monetary reward for winning, self-improvement has got to be the best reason to be here. Hmm, except that my best entry tonight is a 4-year old picture…
April 16, 2010 at 12:45 am #27187corsec67Participantcorsec67 – what’s the story behind your shot of the person sitting under a string of lights, looking over the city?
That was a friend of mine, under the star they light up every year on Flagstaff near Boulder, Colorado.
I was hiking up there to take a picture of Boulder for the stitching contest, and invited him along. He stopped to take a break, and I took that picture.
April 13, 2010 at 3:55 am #27147corsec67ParticipantIs this people only? I have ideas of other subjects besides people.
Pretty sure this is an open theme.
Just wondering how staplermofo is going to make a stapler look lonely.
April 7, 2010 at 11:16 pm #27016corsec67ParticipantI used the Fattal operator for one of my images, but turned it way down, Alpha and beta at about .92 for my 3000×2000 image.
My other two entries are done with Mantiuk, and they seem to look like CG renderings.
One thing is that I tend to use a lot of images, going from 1 second to 30 seconds in about 5 or 6 images.
April 3, 2010 at 10:51 pm #27450March 31, 2010 at 1:44 pm #26919corsec67ParticipantI was going to sit this out, thinking I really didn’t have anything.
Then I searched for “fire” in my gallery.
March 18, 2010 at 2:07 pm #26817corsec67ParticipantCool I’ll post yours too Corsec
Thanks for that. Just got back from what ended up being a crazy, crazy Thursday.
I accidentally left the “/No description needed to explain the farkitectureyness” line in, which came from last week, “/No description needed to explain the geekyness”, and when I substituted “farkitecture” for “geek”, that came out. Good thing the description isn’t important anyways, and it actually kind of fit that entry anyways.
March 17, 2010 at 11:43 pm #26786corsec67ParticipantYou could but your html has been eaten 😛
Ach, that would have really sucked.
Fixed now. (Should probably set “Disable HTML” to default to on, since HTML doesn’t work here anyways…
March 17, 2010 at 11:35 pm #26783corsec67ParticipantCan I also get an OBO?
I am going to be busy today. Class starts at the same time this contest does, and then we are going on a field trip./This is looking straight down
/I love the port building in the background
/No description needed to explain the farkitectureyness
/Denver Art Museum
March 9, 2010 at 2:31 pm #26728corsec67ParticipantI fear my entries are going to revolve around books.
And what is that drink like? I keep seeing it in the convenience stores here, but I haven’t got around to trying any yet.Hmm, revolving books?
It was kind of a berry soda. I just got the can, I didn’t go for the ?1000 pack with the figurine.
March 9, 2010 at 12:25 pm #26726corsec67ParticipantI just pulled a few books from my bookshelf. In my current apartment there is only 1 shelf of books, so not a large selection to choose from, but I was able to make something very, very geeky. (Featuring a FFXIII Elixir)
And then another entry is geeky in how I use the picture, and what is in the picture.
