I just purchased the extension tube set (after Millera9 mentioned them) and they are really great, particularly for the small amount of money you pay for them.

what she said. well the just purchased part at least. they should be here the first of next week.

and BTW you can all talk about hardware until you’re blue in the face but i’m not buying anymore this year. period.

and millera9 i’m expecting some high vote pictures from these or i’ll be looking to you for relief. 🙂

sleeping am going to shoot a couple more rolls with the bellows just to see what happens. the film i’ve got is old (expired 7/2004) which might explain the color problem but not the sharpness issues.

when I’ll find out whether I need to rent a small generator.

you might want to look into a power inverter. that link is just a google find – no endorsement. the small one i have was $30. Sam’s Club has a good selection and that’s where i got mine.

Monkeybort – I thought that photo was both funny and cute (and more importantly one of the few photos that are on topic)!

what he said. when i first say the comment i was like WTF. some folks are just too uptight.

actually i liked your girl on horseback millera9. and it turns out i was right in thinking it was the earrings. the “very subtle” helped define it.

yeah swampa the id number was unfair. there were a lot of us just reading fark pre 9/11 and in the month or two following that a lot of us joined so we could comment also. i don’t have the actual numbers but best i remember the membership doubled from late august to late october.

it sounds ok but like millera9 said an example would help.

hey my post was intentionally written as “some folks” because i didn’t want to call you or anyone else out by name. and your number one (to me FWIW – and it ain’t much) is artsy and fits. two and three – not so much.

and you are a regular who tries hard to play by the rules. which means this is going to be tough to call on what is art and what is simply a close up.

and i’m guessing that “dad” thing is due to my low 5 digit fark account number 🙂

while there are some great shots in this contest it would seem some folks missed this part: “Difficulty – not just a simple close-up of the work.”

but we aren’t too surprised now are we?

    good for you Analogy

my sister did some album work for a local band where she lives and also sent a CD when it was released.

    no that wasn’t a hint.

i’m reminded of a friend from years back who had to create an album cover from four individual shots. yeah four separate exposures on one piece of photo paper to get a master photo. took him a while to get it right since this was in ’74 or ’75 and sans photoshop.

I wonder if I can get a Type-R tattoo and a cardboard hoodscoop on my back before the contest….

keeping in mind that you have to be the photographer perhaps you might want to shanghai some homeless guy for that.

    that was personal, sorry.

but seriously there are some we like more than others. obviously keys wasn’t one of my favorites. fun to see what others did but i wasn’t inspired by it. had a couple of ideas for this but between RL chores and the rain … nada shot.

i took it to be folks at a tattoo convention. or biker week in any of the various places that have biker week. in other words pictures of folks with body art doing their own thing while we capture their soul with our cameras. then exploit them for fabulous prizes.

there are those that do street photography well and then there is me. this contest would be for them. i had bugs last week.

i have scars, some intentional and some not, but nothing for the contest. wasn’t able to get where there would be people to shoot. let me rephrase that. people to take pictures of.

this is the current difficulty: “Difficulty – not just a simple close-up of it. The picture is what counts.” which to me means that single scars are out anyway.
