re the members list. yes it’s multiple pages and i should have remembered that. however i’m not getting any indication of there being more that one page of 50. i did do the sort desending to check after seeing monkeybort‘s post.

a minute and a half faster with the boobies and still beat by someone. i got an unfectable URL message while posting the contest and/or boobies but they all seem to work.

that one entry by me is more for the sake of saying i entered than any hope of getting votes.

i’m waiting for the photo of the computer monitor with Fark on it.

i was going to do that but thought many would and also didn’t want to waste one of three entries on a joke. well not exactly a joke since it’s . well you know.

there are a nice range of “favorite places”. and some great shots.

i was lucky to find the waterfall photo to scan. when i saw the theme it was the first place to come to mind. may not have been a great photo (or scan) but it truely is one of my all time favorite places.

i was happy to do it since Farktography has given me so much. however were it not for the preview feature there would have been half a boobie since my copy paste fu was weak tonight.

what did surprise me was that within a minute of posting the boobies 4 folks had posted pictures and by the time i got mine in at a minute and a half 7 folks had posted.

i liked tonights, good theme (thanks CaptianJim) and good entries.

tonight’s contest seems to be following the description as much if not more than the theme. mine included.

re time: a consistent time would be nice. personally i’d like to see it be 8 for TF and maybe 2 hours later for fark lite. or maybe 7 eastern for TF and 9 for regular. in any case a small head start for the TF folk.

re new contest(s): two a week should split the week which means a weekend contest. doubt it would get much play. or move this one to tuesday and the other on friday. still a slow day. or monday – thursday? if the contests are different enough it might work. such as the three for one and one entry for the other. since i have had crap luck shooting for the contest as opposed to rooting in my hard drive …. rather root.

re completely new contest: no disrespect but my first response was it sounded like worth1k for photos. if that’s it i’ll pass. despite the off topic, snapshot quality of some of the entries, overall this current contest is really great due in part to the wide level of the posters and their submissions. besides if we make it too technical folks just won’t play. notice how few entries now have the camera/lens/settings data.

i’ve entered both early and late and while the earlier do appear to have an advantage concept and execution count for more here.

what i really don’t understand about the voting is when my on theme entry gets pounded by an off theme crappy lame snapshot. or when my barely on theme entry does better than someonelses right on theme one.

so in summary, enter what you want, when you can and just enjoy having the outlet. and tell your friends.i send email to people who wouldn’t otherwise see the contests.

while i really don’t mind sharing i’ve realized that i’m lazy and don’t want to upload the high res stuff on the remote chance someone might want to photoshop it. any suggetions about how folks could contact me/us if they want a high res. other than post in the contest which might well get missed.

you can add me to the use at will group but i’ll have to start uploading and linking to the high res one. all that gets uploaded now is the photo for the contest which has been resized and compressed.
