Why can’t I embed from Flickr? I’m doing it the same way I used to, but now it just shows the coding. I feel like a dumbarse.

    Thanks, Ennui.
I took the picture from my yard (years ago), and I pretty much knew all would be legal….just wanted someone to back me up, I guess.

It’s just a matter of if I want it in the contest..

So, I have a shot of a former neighbor kid, about 5 yrs old, talking to me from his bedroom window, forlorn as he tells me about moving because his parents are divorcing.

What’s the ethics/legality of posting that? Will voters like a depressing photo?

Keep your old prescription bottles, fill them with capsules full of sugar or whey protein or whatever (purebulk.com is awesome), keep it in your camera bag.

Then, when someone hassles you, start muttering to yourself, look them in the eye for a bit like you don’t think they can see or hear you, keep muttering, pour some pills into your mouth straight from the bottle, chew, exhale some sugar/whey/whatever in an angry sigh, cough, have something to drink, then get back to photographing while muttering.

You’ll have saved yourself a conversation and gotten a bit of nutrition too.
They also make caffeine snuff now, if you think snorting something would work better in your area.

I think that can apply to any situation

What you think you see may or may not be what’s really going on.

While that advice is definitely true, in my situation, at the race track, there was no way for him to have off-camera flash(es) set up.

U-Man: You had my sympathy….until your dig at Canon.

Really, though, a sickening story regardless of which brand. Makes me want to go hug my camera.

The tripod, if found, should be salvageable, right?

Interesting, comical, and slighly confounding video. Love the difference in reactions between the private security and the police.

I’ve never been questioned, just watched. Of course, I live in a city of relative unimportance……

beautiful and gritty. while i adore the fog and tones, what seals the photo is the bit of action at the bottom of the frame.

for those who don’t have a dedicated macro lens (i don’t either): lens reversal macro.
google it. there are a number of variations and methods, and results can differ based on lens(es) used. takes some practice.

and yet another silly question: What about the shadow of a person, like, say, the photographer? (I have a shot I’m considering using, taken with the sun at my back…..)

An addendum such as “Show your Bokeh/Shallow Depth of Field (Photos with clear foreground and blurry background)” PSAEF, why I do not know.

Why limited to clear foreground and blurry background? Why not the opposite?

And, asking again, what about bokeh created from a lens reversal macro? The technique I use creates a soft, dreamy blur, with incredibly shallow depth of field.

Only problem I’ve noticed recently with Flickr is shots taken with my 10mm–I keep having to post the smaller size.
