ParticipantIt depends on the availability and how hot the day was. Usually Negra Modelo or Dos Equis Ambar. Not a beer snob really, though I enjoy my local microbrewery whenever I can.
I like Guinness too but it’s too damn expensive down here to stock on it.

ParticipantThe whole flash thing is a real turn off. I could stand the fans (whatever the team), the crowded spaces, the noise, shooting wide doesn’t bother me that much. But I suck at using on-camera flash, so I hate it.
Do you get free beer?

ParticipantSo what do they use instead of tripods?

ParticipantHey Barracuda, isn’t that a 135mm Nikkor-Q? At least that’s what’s written on the front of my copy. =)

ParticipantUnless I can think of something quickly, I’ll be forced to archive dive, and even then, I’m not sure about finding something suitable.

ParticipantLate to the party, as usual, but I’ll jump in anyway…
I have to say that I agree to a certain point with orionid, some of the entries this week seem a little bit off, yes, there was consensus, but still. I’m not a big fan of postprocessing, I rather spent time behind the lens than in front of the computer. All of the entries I chose for this week have only one filter applied, the one I thought could make for an interesting effect, imho, without spending more than a couple of minutes on every image. To be perfectly honest, I don’t like them a lot but I wanted to enter this contest since I was out for some weeks.
Not to say that you can’t accomplish art by merging, filtering, manipulating or combining images, but like some others have said it already, seems to be a bit oposite to what this forum is all about.
My two cents, etc…

ParticipantTalent. Can I have some more of it? ^_^
Actually, I want a DSLR that shoots decent video. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not really into it but let’s call it some kind of assignment. Budget is low so I was told a Canon 60D should do. Currently testing a D7000 but I’m not impressed.

ParticipantYou can, of course, ramp your ISO as high as it will go and use no no reduction to emulate this, though sensor noise and grain really look nothing alike IMO.
Threadjack.
This is something that baffles me to this day, why do so many people think that grain looks like noise and viceversa? I’ve had some people tell me my B/W shots have lots of noise, they even get upset (and look at me as if I was crazy or joking) when I tell them that it’s grain what they are seeing.

ParticipantThis is the wall in question, supposedly, it should be holding water but it hasn’t rained in quite some time. Currently it sits completely dry, baking on the sun.
You can drive in through the gate (which is kind of intimidating, the doors slide up and you can almost feel how massive they are.) People go there with ATVs and dirt bikes to make all kind of stuff on the loose sand.

ParticipantNot really ennuipoet, actually, I’m kind of lost on this one, inspiration fails me.
Last Friday I was staring at a brick wall, trying t figure out what to make of it…

ParticipantBoy, was smugmug slow today…
So, after missing some contests I made it to this one, not all of my ideas materialised so I may post one more pic tomorrow.

ParticipantWhat if I place a tripod on top of an unstable object, say a small boat or something floating on water?

ParticipantI was unhappy with my results for this week, but I reserved some time last Wednesday to make a quick session. Then my wife got involved in a bit of a fender-bender that left my car without a fuel pump (go figure that one, I can’t), I had to had it towed and then had to cancel the previous arrangement I had with my model.

ParticipantSilly me, I was automatically thinking on putting both rolls in the same tank (after having both of them exposed) and develop them at once, but yes, I can expose/process on a one by one basis and there’s a 50% chance that I start with the right one.
Thanks sleeping!
Usually I wouldn’t mind that much but film is expensive these days.
