was there really one? i didn’t notice. some of the long shots my eye just didn’t want to look at — it said “this is a picture of a mountain, not a rock” and stopped looking — you weren’t talking about mine, were you? cuz that’s straight up mama nature’s work there. 😉

I find this silly little photo contest to be a great distraction from the hectic pace of everyday life.

My first farktography contest was a week and a half after I found the lumps in my breast. Farktography has been very therapeutic and I have learned a LOT!

Hmmm, someone could crush a bunch of rock salt and then have a picture of that being snorted through a rolled up $1 bill. “Snorting Rocks”…
(I already have mine chosen out, all from Arches National Park)

What about geodes? They aren’t sculpture and I think the only thing done by man is to break them open and wash ’em out.

I could see tumbled rocks being disallowed, but it seems to me that geodes might be allowed.

When we say “predominant brown theme” is there a certain percentage of brown we are shooting for? Or how does that work around these parts?

Going by the past color themes (Blue II, red, Orange), I think the consensus was that what your eyes are drawn to should be the theme color, but having a giant orange sunset was good for orange.

I ended up choosing and messing with (by that i mean cropping, resizing, copywriting) 25 Joshua Tree pix! :O I did manage to find three of those I’m the most pleased with though. 😉
