I like your idea, but I’m not sure it fits what’s in my head. I think it deserves consideration on its own merits, though! I’ll have to give it some more thought, see if it fits my own concepts or if I have a better idea for framing those concepts.

Screwjack and Elsinore… I’ll be the first to ask a stupid nitpicky question. What defines a “(human) sculpture”? I found (and shot) an interesting pile of rocks down by the river that was clearly placed together by human hands, though obviously not for profit or audience or whatnot. Probably just somebody bored or a child playing. Is this a sculpture? I’d love to make a personal theme of found piles of rocks, but it may be absolutely specifically forbidden for this contest. If so, I’ll have to rev up my brain to think of a contest idea that would fit my concept. 😉

hahaha how ironic. about 3 minutes after i posted my entries i remembered a silhouettes picture i didn’t enter that i like better than my butterfly. D’OH!! Oh well.

I was lucky – I actually had two pictures that were in contest folders that i was willing to submit. There were a few others that I said “there was a reason I didn’t submit that, and I’m not going to now either” lol. The last one I remembered vividly the trip to shoot for the contest and how many shots I liked from that day. Finding another I liked wasn’t hard. 🙂 That was my second best contest so far, too. 😀

Elsinor – I spoke too soon, is all; the numbers are fairly normal now… just a slower start than some contests. Hey, I didn’t exactly post at the sound of the gun myself, so I was just talking too soon. I’m glad you’re feeling better! Myself, I am okay, I think the antibiotics are helping. It’s hard to say when I was going to feel rotten right now from chemo anyway. 😛

I just took a nice swig of a cold drink so i can’t take my temp, but I has one. Trust me that the details on this aren’t fun, but suffice to say that alarms bells went off in my head when one of my doctors called to tell me i had a sort of an appointment with the emergency on-call guy at the main hospital on Saturday Morning because they, after consulting about my case, didn’t want me to go through the whole weekend without medical oversight. I DO appreciate that, don’t get me wrong, but it also raised my paranoia level a few notches…. 😯

Which is not at all what i came in here to say!

And having recently driven from SF to LA via highway 99 I know how flat, empty and HUGE the central valley is. So I appreciate the idea behind just kat‘s dirty windshield photo too.

😀 heehee yup. That was on 5, but it’s all the same out there… which was more or less the impression i was trying to make, but obviously I wasn’t trying hard enough or I would have had the ex stop the car. 😛

/and i would have needed a better camera, but that’s a whole ‘nother story.

I dunno… I think it’s embarrassing at best that two of my pictures for this contest are at the moment my 2nd and 3rd best placing pictures yet. 😛 I thought I was going to tank this week. I am very pleased with my pictures for next week and now I have this feeling I’m not going to do nearly as well lol.
