I have an idea for this. It involves some minor construction. I won’t know how it will work out until I’ve done it. Unfortunately I won’t even know until I’ve pretty much got all the hard work done. =P

And that’s only one. Well, it’s still a few weeks away.

I may have all three of my pictures. I have to get permission on the third one because in it is my step-son’s half sister, and her mom might have issues with her being viewed by thousands on the internet, lol. Nice lady and she adores me, but some people are just squeamish that way. 😉 If she says “no” I have a picture in mind to shoot which, for all i know, might turn out so well that i decide to use it instead anyway. 😛 I’m really pleased with the ones I have so far — better than any since my first contest, that’s for sure. 😀

Hey, my husband is kicking my ass in this contest. And rightly so, his pix are better than mine. But as this is his first and my third, sheesh! heeheehee. However, he’s a better photographer and also had better pix sitting around. I think I’m going to do better in next week’s. Not necessarily better than him, but better than this week’s. It would be difficult to do worse. 😛

I tried to fly a kite with a stapler on it so it would look like the stapler was hang gliding.
EPIC FAIL.
It makes me want to move somewhere so sparsely populated I can try this crap without drawing a gaggle of people close enough to stare but still out of “could you hold this while I …” range.

D’oh! Prolly too later for a paper mache stapler… ‘sides that would be tough to make well. 😉

Just had a vision of you attaching wings to a stapler and flinging it into the air and madly snapping away…. 🙂

I have a particular picture that i’d like to use…
It’s a great shot of a bird taking off, however there’s also another bird watching from the sand…

if “they” say you can’t have the spectating bird in the picture, you could crop him out without destroying the picture. You’d have to take it right down to the beak, but it could be done. It’s a lovely picture. 🙂

we keep talking about getting one, but our backyard is in a bit of a state of … upgrade, shall we say? so we’ve been sort of waffling about where to put it. Meanwhile we’ve just been trying to catch ’em at our silk tree. 😉

I caught the lizard-raping hummingbird!! But the picture is too blurry to submit. I wanted to show y’all though, cuz it would have been damn awesome if it had turned out in focus lol.

I guess i just wasn’t ready for him– he’d been actually sitting still lol

yeah i had a picture that theoretically would have been much better – the bee was bigger in the picture and was profile on, not beehind (if you’ll excuse the pun) on… but like a moran I had the whole scene backlit and you really can’t see a thing. D’oh! talk about a rookie mistake. 😛

w00t! caught a honeybee in flight! Got the camera out for a hummingbird, but it flew away while i was getting it out. So I started hunting bees – fast little suckers, but probably not as fast as hummingbirds lol. Not a great picture, but you *can* see its little wings, so that’s something. 😉 Keeping the (husband’s) camera out in case the doves come by… I’ll try to be scarier than I usually am to birds; maybe they’ll actually fly away from me. 😛

that makes sense. this picture, oddly enough, doesn’t have much sky — it’s a low shot, a crane taking off over a water hazard at a golf course. but it doesn’t look like the grass or the water is in focus either. nor the sand trap way in the background lol. *shrug*

maybe i’ll find something in my old film photoalbums, since the tricks theme brought one so powerfully to mind… (this would be what they call wishful thinking 😉 )
