ParticipantDid we decide in the original thread whether my Seagull is “lomo” enough for this theme?
Yar. (That’s Pirate for “yes”)
LOL!
Ok I figured out how to basically cut the lens off a really cheap 35mm camera that I had already busted by dropping it on concrete and I got it stuck to the front of my Rebel xs instead of a regular lens. But it has a very narrow focus area unless I can figure out a slide mechanism for focus. I have not had time to figure out how narrow but I am thinking maybe 6 inches front to back at around 3 feet from the camera. lol tonight I tested it a bit and focusing consisted of moving closer or farther from the subject. I wanna play with it during daylight first before I go any further in modding it.
Awesome! Two pieces of plastic pipe, one inside the other, work great. Add friction with a piece of felt.
Yeah it feels good to cobble something together that works from things that would be trash to others. It definitely has a sharper center and a rather fuzzy outer area. This should be great for this theme and playing around afterwards too.

ParticipantI am on Google+ and the only three people it thinks are near me are in Arizona. lol. Do you have better search ideas than putting in Tonopah Nevada photographers or central Nevada photographers?

ParticipantI will have to skip the pinhole camera still for lack of funds and might not even be able to get the roll or two of 35mm film I have taken developed but I plan on dismantling the Capitol mxII I used with one of the rolls and trying to use the lens assembly with my Canon Rebel. Wish me luck. You especially orionid lol!
Yoyo if you were around here I would drag you out to the 100 year old dump in the area. There are old coke bottles and other really old bottles just laying around every where out there. For free. Last summer I found what I believe is about a hundred year old Listerine bottle just sitting on top of a pile of rusty tin cans.

ParticipantYa know, I saw the guy with the love life sign over his head from probably a 1/4 mile away and went out of my way to cross paths with him even though it was not the way I had been walking that day. I sure am glad I stopped and talked to him for a few minutes as he had stopped there to have a bite to eat. He was a very nice fellow and was glad to have his picture taken. I am also glad I didn’t need any back story to get as many votes as it seems to be getting. Man o man is my voting finger gonna be sore when I get done.

ParticipantNo. but I did notice Your site hadn’t updated when I looked at it around 2 hours ago but I just figured it would catch up soon.
And my most popular pic this week even has a funny vote. Why It does I don’t have a clue. Sure are a lot of great pictures again this week and only one or two that I would say only barely fit the theme. Predle comes to mind and even more so the monkey in a dolls head posted by freedumblokisbong
ParticipantWell hopefully I find a job and can get the time off if this idea happens. Right now I couldn’t fund a trip to the next town let alone a different state.
lokisbong
ParticipantWell I would certainly think so. But I guess I should let Farktographer have the last word.

ParticipantMuahahaha, time to go raid the parent’s attic for my lego stash.
Pretty sure my mom got rid of all mine 20+ years ago. Luckily I have been getting some small sets since I started Farktography.

ParticipantIt’s always BBQ season!
unless the wind and rain make it impossible to light the fire to begin with. I have been know to bbq in the cold of winter as long as the weather doesn’t fight my starting the briquettes.

ParticipantDamn there are a lot of great pictures in that album. Looks like you all had fun. I wonder if there are any people around here who would be willing to do a photowalk? gonna have to find out somehow.

ParticipantDo these have to be done with actual holga/lomo etc lenses this time or can we do digital fakes again like the first time we did holga/lomo?
Hmmmm. My new point and shoot does have a toy camera setting. I don’t find anything in the original thread about camera settings. but I might be able to rig a different lens for the cameras I have from the crappy busted 35mm I never tossed.

ParticipantI actually have an idea, and a general shooting plan, now I need to find time to do it. Also, does anyone have any idea how to go about affixing a round piece of fruit to a cross?
/yes, I am actually serious.
Drill a LOOOOONG screw through the back of the cross and screw the fruit onto the pointy end
Or super glue and a few hours?
Heh. I was gonna suggest some coat hanger s-hook type thing. bend hanger into a two ended hook and hook one end over the cross and stick the fruit on the other hook. then you have not ruined the cross if it’s a nice looking thing.

ParticipantYeah this will finally push me to develop the roll I have so far. Well if I can come up with the funds to mail it off since there is nowhere within a hundred miles to get it developed. At least I have over a month to do so.
