I got myself a new Canon Powershot Elph 100 hs with image stabilisation. It is 250 times better than my old p/s Canon was new. and the cheapest to aquire on my wish list.

Yeah I would say only about a third of the “funny” votes were funny. Apparently sleeping kittens are funny? And I love Kestranas hdr sunset but I wouldn’t think that it was funny. I was going for funny with my pathways shot so at least it got a vote or two in the funny side. I still think sticking us with two vote buttons is not the best idea by far.

Re: mining park – maybe you could volunteer there. That’s also a possible way to get a paid position there or a similar place.

I believe all they have are volunteer positions there and at the Central Nevada Museum. If I wasn’t needing a paying job I might just do that though. I probably will go see about it this spring.

Fluffybunny that sounds quite a lot like the “back button auto focus” thing I use on my Canon Rebel xs. It uses the button that normally controls the zoom when previewing taken pictures instead of the shutter button.

gah!!! I just got rickrolled. I haven’t had that happen in a year or more. lol I learned to look for pawnsnoodik or how ever the final countdown cover goes but never could learn all the variations of the rickroll.
I am torn about this voting thing. I’m not one to yell at clouds when things change but this one I do not like at all. Are we sure we couldn’t just go back to one vote for us and let the photoshop peeps do it their own way?.

So they are just gonna fuck with us and split the normal voting thing. I am not at all sure I like that. The voters are fickle enough the way things were. I can see this causing a drop in total voters willing to even vote in the first place.

I’ve been to the mining park a few times now. I wish I could visit without the $5 entrance fee. It’s a pretty cool place to visit. I have been trying to get to places not normally seen by the locals but am running out of places that won’t end up with me getting in trouble for trespassing. Most of the cool really old buildings would since I don’t know where to find the people I would need permission from. When the weather was warmer I spent a lot of time out in the desert but I am getting bored with the same scenery shots. I want to go to the races but just have been having problems with the transport part. I have a friend who was racing last year. Maybe I can get a ride with him when race season starts back up.

I would love to. But I currently do not own a car. All I have is a 50 cc scooter that will do about 25 mph on level ground so even Goldfeild which is only 25 miles away as the crow flies is not a safe option. The restaurant I was working at had to close permanently so I am jobless again for now so getting a car anytime soon is unlikely.

Cool idea. I am just wrapping up my 365 type thing. I might do a project but I still am not sure what would help me most. Any ideas would be cool. I think it should help me learn some new skills or at least get me out with the camera more often. I kinda started slacking on the picture trips once the weather got cold here.

I am just wrapping up a picture a day /365 project at the end of this year. I have been late uploading a few times and I actually missed one day completely.
I enjoyed the project most of the time even though I didn’t push myself to learn too much new stuff. Once in a while I would remember like five minutes before bed I had not picked up a camera all day and those days are pretty easy to spot. Some crappy pictures on those days for the most part. During nicer weather it had me out taking walks and actually getting some exercise which I really need lately. Wish it was warmer out… not sure how people like soosh do it in really cold places.
