Is the rule for classic themed contests that we have to have taken our submissions recently or is it just the standard rule that you can’t post the same exact pics you posted to the original contest?

the rule for all contests is that you cannot use the same picture twice. once it’s been submitted to a contest, it’s out of the running for all future contests unless explicitly stated in the Boobies that repeats are allowed for that specific contest.

the ‘when’ doesn’t matter – can be old shots, new shots, middle-aged shots, whatever you’d like to use!

has anyone had any luck with the cs2 hdr? i just tried a quick one and it didn’t really come out all that well. sky was still blown out, etc. or is there tweaking that can be done that i’m missing?

it was a group decsion, by the mods & the technical folks who will be working on the website, to move the thread in question to the “Site Redesign” section of the forum. there will be opportunity for more input as it is still in progress.

I was just checking the main forum page, and I don’t see this “Site Redesign” section. Where do I comment if need be? Who will be able to give any input? Just admins or something?

it got to be a ‘too many cooks’ situation. brian and LE are going to work together and (i believe, any other mods correct me if i’m wrong) once they have the basic design and skeleton up it will be made public for comments.

I really like this idea and I know that someone here will be famous in twenty years so lets do this. Here is my idea, The first 10 people that email a participating farktographer get an 8X10 of the photographers favorite photo.

After geting a conformation of being one of the ten then that photographer should send an 8X10 to the photographer that they chose.

That way we only have to send out 10 prints each.
Does this make sense?

i like the idea of not sending out a brazillion prints, but i’m afraid that it might turn into a popularity contest if we do it this way. like everyone would want a print from veruca, but then there’s this n00b that no one knows and no one would email him/her to be in their group. maybe we could set up groups of 10 to exchange among themselves or something like that?

i’ve got two 1 gb lexars and they work great, i just needed some extra room for our trip to europe.

i think my problem came from not formatting the card in the camera before using it. duh.

and ya, i use my card reader to transfer everything to my computer. i actually don’t even know where the computer to camera cord is. 😳

i haven’t researched it at all, i was hoping that someone would just say ‘oh, it’s the flux capacitor, you just have to tweak the rotary girder’ and that would fix it. 😛

it’s the very last folder from the vacation (only 30-50 shots out of over 1000); night shots of the charles bridge mostly. i think mr. ‘bort has some that are very similar, so it’s not TOO bad if i can’t get them back.

my computer shows the folder as locked, and when i put the card in my camera it gives a ‘cf error’ message. i’m going to see if i can access the menu and see if there is a write protect on there somehow.

it’s a ‘promaster’ card. i would have rather gotten a lexar but it was all this store carried and i had a gift certificate. they guy said they’ve always worked well for him, but what else would a sales guy say?
