    fine, fine, just fine, thanks!

if i hadn’t refreshed before posting, we absolutely would have had competing threads.

the SO has it up in bozeman for the time being

Waaaaaay off topic here, but I’m bringing the family up to Billings, Red Lodge and Cooke City in August – we’ll probably shoot down to Yellowstone for a bit. If convenient, maybe we could have a small Fark Party up around there (you know, coffee or something).

i’m down in jackson – i’d love to meet up! and nate (the SO) should be done for the summer and here as well. drop me an email if you’re going to be in the area!

veruca – nate got mine at b & h. they’re a little pricey, but it’s they’re super fun. i had to do multiple exposures for most of those – put it on a tripod and do two or three or even four exposures.

i love the way they come out – all the light leaks and everything are so cool and unpredictable.

holga! holga!!! (said in best john belushi ‘toga’ voice)

i got a polaroid back for mine and have done some holgaroids with it that have come out really cool (IMHO). i’ve posted my favorites at the end of my ‘different perspective’ batch on pbase

    http://www.pbase.com/monkeybort/different_perspective

other than that i haven’t played with it too much – the SO has it up in bozeman for the time being to shoot his architecture site with.

oh, we also did some b/w holgaroid portraits when we got engaged, but he hasn’t given me the scans of those yet.

Might it be possible to get a more feasible greenlight time if the TF posting time were earlier in the day? I realize that might make it slightly more prohibitive for some TF’ers to get in early on the action, but it may ensure a larger audience than when we’re relegated to the 4/5/6am greenlights. Yes, I know alternate times have been suggested in the past, but IIRC, they were mostly LATER times.

i think it’ll be harder to find someone to put up the first post (at least on this side of the country) if we make it too much earlier – as it is i sometimes just barely get home in time to post it (the few times i’ve done it).

i always used photoflo for a 30 second or so bath after rinsing the fix – i think it was supposed to help with water spots.

ooo, and there was actually a different soak after the fix, to get rid of even more fixer, but i can’t remember what it was called. shoot.

    /no help whatsoever

Yeah, that’s normal – voting gets disabled when a thread is greenlighted (you can vote before that happens, and I think those votes count)

yeah, they do count. so you can vote up until a greenlight time is scheduled, and then again after the thread goes green.

that’s because you have an excellent eye and a knack for finding hidden beauty.

I love your Lucky Charms photo! I swear to bob I considered buying some, but I knew I would probably eat them all in one sitting. I was also going to go with a shot of the whole bowl. I like your idea better. 🙂

Hand to Jebbus I’ve got the cereal box on my lap and am munching as I type this. Too funny 😛

All I’m doing with them is sending them to Photomax to be printed or putting them into a video presentation. Nothing major.

I’ve noticed that when I upload pictures to the web, most times my sharp images appear soft online. I didn’t know if raise the dpi would help that or not.

when you’re posting things to the web, you generally change the ppi to 72, right? interpolating 10% at a time may help reduce some of the fuzziness. In photoshop, you can change the settings to decrease the size by %, instead of by inches. If you just go down 10% at a time until you get the file size you want, it helps maintain the image integrity. if you do it all at once, photoshop is throwing out a ton of pixels at a whack instead of just a few at a time. If it can do a few at a time, it generally makes better choices.

i’d leave the resolution at 300 or so if you’re getting them printed.
