I was going to stop at the Jewish cemetery on the way home tonight. As I drove up though there was a large gathering of folks in there and I didn’t want to go traipsing around with my camera.

There are some massive stones in that place. Hopefully I will have time tomorrow.

I’ve been prowling all the little roadside graveyards that dot the New England countryside. Less chance of angry relatives wanting to know why you are laying on your belly shooting pictures of Aunt Millie’s headstone if the graves are 150 years old.

The problem is the stones from that period are usually very modest and small. Sometimes they are just that…stones.

Never seen this before, but with the way I just played with it all evening I have a feeling I’m going to become a regular user quite quickly.

I use Pandora all the time at work. I find that it makes Firefox such a huge resource hog after about an hour that I have to close and reopen or I can’t do anything.

I am surprised at how high I am on those charts, since I don’t consider many of my recent entries to be that good. I just enter as much as I can, which helps totals but hurts averages.

For this contest, I am going to have to look around for stuff, like streets and other stuff near my apartment.

yeah, I know I’ve had a couple of good ones lately – I think I’m at six top tens now, but I thought I was just too inconsistent to be doing that well overall…

Definitely not going to be a theme for my shots this week… I’ve got at least two, and they couldn’t be in more opposite directions.

Everytime I think I have nothing for a theme I end up in the top ten.

This week I have way too many good (at least I think good) shots so I probably will bomb.

I agree with Elsinore. I have had 2 requests to use photos (very flattering for an amature like me)and as soon as I start to request more info I never heard from them again.

I would let anyone use my shots for charity or non profit uses, but if you want it for a commercial endeavor you can throw a few bucks my way.

I was actually kind of surprised by what U-Man chose since it did pretty well in the original theme (5th place).

I had plenty of shots that didn’t do that great, but also didn’t deserve to do that great. Had an easier time finding stuff that did better than they deserved 😆

I think it should be a previous entry, non-cropped. Resized would be fine.

I would agree. Likewise with other alterations. I keep looking at my top choice and thinking “Man, if only I’d known how to use color balace to get the effect of white balancing back then. Maybe if I just….. no, no…. must…. leave…. the….. same….”

Looking back at my failures I can see now why they failed. Like you say, white balace off,composition,maybe cropped differently?

I did find 1 shot that I thought was a good one that got 0 votes so I was going to use that one.

After this week and the failure of my Xmas cactus 😕 (which I really like and is one of my most popular on Flickr)I am reconsidering
