I’ve been to Victoria a couple of times, and may head back there. I’d really love to find any kind of ruins that I can.

    VW camper van!?!

Can’t think of a better way to bum around the west coast area.

    Have fun..

I’m using my favorite shot that I’ve taken so far with my d60. It’s a simple shot of a strand of wildflowers. Don’t know what it is I just fell in love with it instantly. I’m very interested to see how it resonates with others.

If it’s like any of my favorites that I posted it will resonate like this… *thud*
    😉

Farktography is a fickle beast, but that’s what makes it more fun than a regular photo contest

Wow! My best finish ever in a contest I didn’t think I would have anything for!

    YAY me!

    Congrats to Mopsy too!

I like my 1.8. If I had the extra $ I would get a 1.4 but for what I paid ($50 on eBay) it does the trick. You could always buy the 1.8 and use it while you save up for the 1.4. Who knows not everybody likes shooting with primes and you may find that the 1.8 is a good fit for how you use the lens.

Sunsets that actually have the sun in them should be ok. Sunsets after the sun sets and therefore is not visible don’t seem to fit the theme to me.

I had no ideas for this contest until yesterday. On the way home tonight I heard a song that gave me another idea. So I came home and dug out my grandsons Disney figurines and went to work…

    You have Grandkids??

I guess I never really thought about our relative ages on here.

Next summer, I’m combing garage sales for Fisher Price characters/GI Joes, etc.

I’m only 43. Grandson is 4. We started the kid thing early. My youngest is 18.

Self-improvement is key. On my own, I wouldn’t have tried half the stuff I’ve entered here, and I’m a better photographer for it. And some of my absolute favorite photos I’ve taken are ones that I wouldn’t have taken if it weren’t for the themes here. I hate it when, like last week, I am sick or otherwise busy and can’t get to the ideas I was thinking about.

I’m going to have to wait until an hour after the contest today starts to even begin shooting one of my ideas, but that’s ok, as my TF subscription expired a few days ago and I’m broke for a week so I can’t post anything until it goes green tonight at 8pm my time.

    Can’t have Farktography without soosh!

Yea I like that one better too but I think the first one evokes the original image more. I wish the back ground was better but you don’t know how much of a spaz case this puppy is. I am amazed I got him to sit still for ten minutes on the couch.

    *shakes fist @ U-Man!!!!*

dammit!! Now I need new ideas!

Not so, my friend. Unless you planned on making your pics look like paintings you should be fine. Perhaps I should have waited until later to present my soup can as a B-side. Sorry if I messed up. If you have something similar you want to use (and it fits in the rules) go for it. I’m doing three photos with people in them.

I will use the soup can as a last resort if I can’t shoot anything else. So far I have 2 ideas. I am going heavy on the “evokes” part of the theme description. not so much a duplicate but similar…

I have these two I did today but I’m not sure I like them.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!
