ParticipantMost of the V-series camera bodies can use a digital back. I think the absolute cut-off are the 500’s made in the late-fifties, but I’d want something from the late seventies or early eighties to get better integration.

There’s a Hasselblad with lens going for about $6500 dollars secondhand in a shop near me. It’s that or that wife.
*sigh*Oh well, married life was fun.
I, uh, can’t comment since the wife will probably read this…

ParticipantI’m still saving for that hasselblaad. I really want to be able to do digital and film with the same camera.
/at a glance, that’s a pretty damn nice camera though.

ParticipantI thought it was the day before every contest….
In other news, I work fairly close to one of the largest rail yards on the West Coast (UPRR’s Roseville yard) and my office is right off the north-bound line. I’ve spent two lunches and about and hour after work this week and haven’t seen a single train 🙁

ParticipantI decided to make it easy on myself and limit my choices…
I haven’t been able to get out and shoot much recently, so I had to go archive-diving. I set a 6-month limit, which cut out a number of things, and skipped a few buildings that I used in other contests, but I could have had waaay too many more…

ParticipantCan we up the entry limit for this week?
Heh. I had a hard time picking out of seven. I’ll post some ‘B’s later.
In the meantime, Elsinore would you be a hero and envotinate my 08:05:10 PM? It’s my favorite pic of the lot, too 😛

ParticipantI’ve got a couple of ideas…the difficulty is going to be making them interesting :/
that was my problem last time. and most likely this time too. it’s difficult to make a triple boot computer tower actually show much geekyness.
and my various and sundry film cameras, while outside the norm, aren’t all that inherently interesting nor geeky. well except to those who may like old time mid and large format cameras.
One of my ideas came out okay anyhow. OTOH, I’m still struggling with the server closet for similar reasons. It’s especially tricky because it was once the heater closet, so it’s really narrow, and I’m having issues getting all the details in. If I include the monitor at the bottom of the closet in the shot, the vent system in the ceiling isn’t visible for example, and the two servers don’t really stand out so well.

ParticipantA number of my favorite rolls also involve cream cheese. Nommy indeed.
Or, for total kicks, the local place takes half a jalapeno, stuffs it with cream cheese, dips in tempura and deep fries… 😀

ParticipantThey’re doing intermittent database work today.
Actually, the real reason is that I tried to take a TFvacation, and someone went and sponsored me, totally breaking the matrix.
