ParticipantThanks guys (and gals). Y’all are too kind.
mopsy I see what you were getting at, but the blurred version is too ‘soft’ for the mood I was going for IMHO.

ParticipantI resolved this year to post the stuff I like, and what speaks to me, and hope for the best.
But, it’s what’s in my head so it has to get out.
Yep, my consensus, too.
But, I actually have three shots I’m really happy with this week, for a change. And none of them archive shots either, woo!
/I’ve been in kind of a ‘slump’ for the last few months. Hopefully that’s broken…OTOH, I really hate having to blur my shots. Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn’t just go after forgiveness rather than permission…

ParticipantI’m sad that I haven’t gotten many votes with my pics; but it just drives me to try to be more and more creative each week that I can participate. The HDRs were fantastic, but I don’t have the technology for that.
I came to a crossroads a while back… what I consider my best work, and the things that seem to strike a chord with people I talk to, often do terribly well. But sometimes they do, and sometimes the stuff that I do for fun (or just post for the hell of it) do. You can never tell.
I resolved this year to post the stuff I like, and what speaks to me, and hope for the best.
In all honesty, consider the format… When I go to vote there’s generally 100+ pictures to go through. I’m bound to miss some I like, and I’m sure I unintentionally skip things I’d absolutely love in another setting.
/oh, and so long as I can get off my arse, one of my shots won’t involve people this week. Of the others…one might make someone lonely, and the other might disturb. But, it’s what’s in my head so it has to get out.

ParticipantFaneuil Hall, yes?
Edit: *sigh* I’ll have to hurt orionid later
If you stand on the steps on the other side of the building, just in front of you to the left is an outdoor restaurant. They had the best baked (Bay) scallops I’ve ever had…

Participantorionid wrote:orionid why the security for the canal transit? i’ve been through there twice in an AKA and a CLG. but that was 61-62 and we didn’t have any security at all.
on the first transit in the AKA we stopped in Gutan Lake, filled the mike boats and swan in them since our captain wouldn’t let us swim in the lake itself.
Long story short, because we have a reactor. The navy figures anything nuclear would be a high profile target for various badguys, and thus takes appropriate precautions.
Pre-Carter the Canal was also US territory. I’d suspect that that change has something to do with it.
Also, meant to post this pic in the thread (non-votey) – My dad took a shot of the last Vigilante to leave the USS Enterprise in ’78

Participantmopsy: there were some other reports of Explorer having issues with Fark. Not sure whether or not it’s been resolved. And yeah, clouddancer, I saw that too.
I’m pretty sure it’s because it didn’t fit in with the anacrostic.

ParticipantElsinore, while you’re deleting stuff, can you nix my 2010-03-31 08:02:15 PM? I may re-post it later, but I don’t want to compete with Kat’s skater…
