lol I’m surprised I didn’t see at least three tilt-shift shots tonight.

lol Kat AFAIK he’s the only guy I know who’s balls are literally on a chain
/yes, novelty footballs, but it’s really not that farfetched

Elsinore that’s my thinking too, but I need to buy some actual zinc strips. The paltry amount of zinc plating that I’ve been able to find locally just ain’t gonna cut it.

Jeez Kat. Are we going to have to queue up Sleepless in Seattle next? 😛

    Shoulda used potatoes 😉

    We’re rice men.

/really, don’t have any potatoes in the house. We do, however, have a metric assload of grapefruit on the tree in the back yard.

Part of the problem, honestly, is that I threw stuff together at the last minute, and couldn’t find anything zinc – so I had to use zinc-plated stuff (screws). And, I didn’t really have enough surface area to allow for good current flow.

The idea will, probably, be used in a currently (pun intended) scheduled contest…

Take a picture of the tv 😉

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well 🙁

    lol that’s very tempting.

/Actually, I found something in my archives but I’m not sure if it’s good enough to use here :/
//and thanks. I’ll get over it.

So my third shot didn’t work out so well this week. I was getting plenty of voltage (a nice 2.4V) but not enough current to light an LED, let alone a light bulb (I tried both)

I had one other idea that I was going to try, but I came home at lunch today with a 99.7 degree fever (my normal body temp is nearly 2 degrees lower than ‘normal’) and frankly I should probably just keep sitting here on the couch and watching Star Wars :/

I hear ya lokisbong – the snow level here is around 5000′ feet, so it’s at least a 40 minute drive ‘up’. Longer if you consider you’ll probably have to stop somewhere and put on chains…

/we have been getting a fair amount of rain lately though, as evidenced in my contest subs this week 😛

I’d say that if it’s apparent that the bulb is burned out it’s cool.

Cool. Thanks Corsec. I kinda figured that’s what you were going for.

FWIW that one is uncropped, shot from around 10″ away…

/not sure I’m going to use it still – I’ve got a ton of shots for this contest 😛

heh. I freaking love that movie. We introduced the boy to it recently too along with a few other movies from the area.
/I’d forgotten that Sixteen Candles has 15 seconds or so of completely gratuitous boobies though 😛

ANd thanks. I don’t think it violates the intent of the difficulty, but wasn’t sure about what was meant by the letter of it.

Oh, that pic will fit some theme. Actually, I was thinking of introducing some sort of blur theme. I ran across a guy’s Flickr account who likes blurred images. There was some good stuff. I plan on playing with it more. I think panning is part of what is in my head, but the idea hasn’t crystallized yet.

That sounds like it has some serious fun potential.

Awesome, and yeah. QR is fast, he was third favorite going into the breeders cup, but he was so geared up to race that day, they couldn’t get him into the chute. So the judges tried blind-bagging him, at which point he freaked out, damn near crush a judge between himself and part of the chute, and cut himself pretty badly in the process. Enough such that he’s out of racing until next season.

Ow. That hurts (on so many levels). At least with the trotters they have a running gate, which makes it easier on them.

The other thing that makes it cool is that it’s kid-friendly. They can’t hang out in the parlor so much, but we can bring them in and take them down on track-level.

/thought I had some pics but I can’t find them at the moment 😛
