ParticipantQueenBee, if you right click, go down to properties and then summary, you should be able to find your shutter time. It won’t work after you have sized it for Fark. Go to wherever you have the photo filed.
heh tried but it’s a scanned photo so no info like that 😛

ParticipantMy guess, looking at the ambient lighting and candles, that it probably wasn’t 2 seconds, depending on your film speed.
probably not. it’s all good. I’ve got other stuff I can use. thanks! 🙂
QueenBee
ParticipantAny kind of estimate for how long the exposure was?
cluuuuueless because it was taken with my cheapy little lomography camera where you just hold the button for as long as you want the exposure to be 😀
QueenBee
ParticipantWhat if I’ve got something scanned that i don’t know how long the exposure was for? Should I just ditch it for this contest?
Photo in question:

ParticipantOh, and QueenBee, that’s a hilarious photo.
thanks 🙂 I think they covered it before the show first came to the shore tho 🙁 Booooo! I live about 20 min. from there.

ParticipantOne of the reasons I wanted to put the 3 pics together is that I thought it’d be easier for someone to figure out the location…for example, I am planning on using pictures of the shore. While there are lots of beaches around the world and nothing that specifically makes one stand out from another, I thought this picture might help people understand where I mean (not to mention I just love this picture)
Am I the only one who is having trouble seeing this? It has crashed my browser twice when I click that link.
..Are you Italian? Do you have connections? Maybe it’s a sign you shouldn’t look…I don’t want to swim with da fishes…

ParticipantEeek, QueenBee! iy-carumba! I’d say they’d get the point (and it should get some serious votes, too). I’d love to see three shots from the same region, but don’t want Elsinore to have to police all the entries for that (and how would we know, except in gross examples?). If E. wants to police it, fine, though.
Yeah I guess that makes sense. Ahh well hopefully people will just see them and put it together. I can’t pass on the opportunity to use that picture 😀

ParticipantOne picture per entry, correct.
Originally I’d the idea that all three images would be things that would appear on the same travel brochure, but I’m not going to hold anyone to that, esp. as it’s nearly impossible to get three posts grouped together anyway to provide that context to the voters.
that’s what I was thinking and asking if it was three pics to a post or not. to me that’d make more sense but im not the one making the rules 😀
QueenBee
ParticipantDo all three pictures have to be from the same place? meaning the same state.
and it’s one picture per entry right? Not three pics in one post kind of thing right?

ParticipantI rarely remember my dreams..short of the one reoccurring nightmare I’ve had for years now..but I’d have no way to recreate that…
can it be stuff I dream of when I’m awake? I need to go find me some good looking guys to photograph… 😛
QueenBee
ParticipantQB – Sure. It sounds like the blurred part adds to the whole pic.
It’s not where my brain went, but that’s part of the fun with these themes.
It does because it makes the other words really stand out. Yay! I’m excited to use it 😀
QueenBee
ParticipantIs blur by distortion OK? I had a shot I loved for another theme that I couldn’t end up using of some type as seen through a full wine glass and the words are blurred and distorted at the edges.
QueenBee
ParticipantVery cool. I will look into that stuff. Thanks 🙂

ParticipantOK..I’m kind of technologically stupid when it comes to photography terms. I have a p&s so what you’re saying I need to do is basically turn it on and shoot without hitting the zoom or macro button? or zoom and stay there? Would it make more sense, as to not be tempted, to use the macro function since once it’s on there’s no zooming to be done? I’m confused!! :S
