    I like the yellow eel shot, and the lionfish pics came out really well also. But in particular I like the shot of the little girl and the scuba guy–the ‘human’ factor works really well there.

    My only worthwhile b-side. I love this shot of my mother in law’s cat but decided to save this one for another contest.

    The family is going to the aquarium tomorrow. It will be too late for this contest, but any advice on shooting in such an environment would be appreciated.

    Nice cat/fish pic! I can understand saving it for…I did, I did tee a puddy tat, perhaps?

    Due to the illumination of the aquariums I was at, I had to use ISO 1600 (as high as I can go with my anon xTi), and exposures of 1/100th to 1/200th second. No flash–it’s worthless at an aquarium. Tough to get, and I’m less-than-thrilled, but…they at least fit the theme.

    I ALMOST went to one of those fancy aquarium spots, where the lighting would have been far better, but I opted to spend the $20 on a couple shirts instead. Didn’t feel much for this contest, unfortunately. But one can’t be thrilled with all themes, I suppose.

    Wow–love the architectural lines! This seems to be a refurbished building, no? What was it’s original purpose?

    Indeed. But I enjoyed the post-production mints.

    (okay, I would have, if given the opportunity.)

    It was hard fought and well earned, kashari. And against Darth Vadar, no less. 🙂

    I guess I’ll have to hang on to that 1/2 loaf bread for a while…

    Any way we go with it, the theme is chock full of possibilities. olavf‘s openity toward creativity all the better.

    //I’ll fail. Spectacularly.

    unlike in Labor Day, where I’m showing up about as popular as a fart in church during a wedding. Or maybe a brisk.

    Guh… sorry all. I certainly didn’t mean to cause any difficulties. Most of my theme suggestions seem to hit the wall. Don’t think that I have anything else in the hopper now, so there’s that to look forward to. Some nice stuff from those that did partcipate though!

    The series with the guy training the horse is awesome, in particular.

    Hey! That looks familiar…
    Same rainbow? Different angle?

    Maybe. That looks to be a shot from maybe Papago Park? (The powerline pole makes me think so.) Definitely a different time, though. Things were dark, except for that cloud. Here’s the full pano shot, a small bit earlier:
