Participantson of a bitch, today’s thursday, isn’t it?

Participantthe 3-D animation would work and is a perfect example of the sort of thing I was hoping would show up. You’re combining two shots in software, and using software to move between them. You haven’t added any elements that weren’t present on the film, you’ve just tweaked what was there.
Selective blurring is definitely OK.
Yeah, linguine, without the text, it’s totally within the limits.

ParticipantWould something like this be allowed

Or is adding the text taking it too far?I think the text is taking it too far. You allow that, and it’s basically an Illustrator contest and we’ve got swallows and pigeons and geegaws and gimcracks, and I’m not up for all that crap.

ParticipantHow about putting more than one photo together for diptychs, triptychs or whatever they’re called beyond 3?
to make one image? yeah, allowable.

ParticipantMy feeling is that anything is pretty much allowable in this contest. That was the whole intent, that there wasn’t anything you couldn’t do.

Participantmine runs off of coppermine, and I get hosting from 1and1.com. I pay about $5 a month for hosting. I’ve been meaning to redo mine to a flash gallery, but haven’t undertaken that yet. If you decide to do your own hosting, I would be happy to help you set up coppermine or something similar. It’s really not that difficult. I have my photoblog running on pixelpost, which is another free web application.
If you do go the pay for hosting route, I highly recommend getting space on a linux server as opposed to Microsoft. I think there is just a lot more out there that works more readily on linux.

Participantu-man, thanks for the kind words.
I do have to ask you something, totally unrelated. Does that puddle image on my photoblog now look different than the last time you saw it?

Participantorionid, I love your shot with the dog tags. u-man your shot looking up the flagpole and the horizontal barn shot are among my favoritest this week. lots of great photos, and I didn’t think I was going to be too interested in the entries this week.

ParticipantI decided to go through some really old vacation jpgs and found another flag photo that cleaned up fairly nice. Wish I had my shit together, it might have pulled some votes. I added it anyway.

ParticipantI’m probably going to suck on this theme. I didn’t prepare, don’t have much in the archives, and am not feeling the circus peanut creativity vibe today.
