I have had only one interesting experience and that was at Ebay in San Jose in 2007. I took a pic of their sign. Yep I was on their property but as I explained to the security people (in black SUVs), I could have just used a telephoto lens from the sidewalk. It’s good to know that I’m not the only person who uses the top of the dryer as random crap storage.

If I get a front loading washer, I can double my random crap storage….

Basically, me: “you are throwing that out?” My manager: ” I never said that” me: “So what are we going to do with it?” Manager: ” I don’t know, it just seemed to be a waste to scrap it” Me: “can I have it…”

Lost a couple of bearings on one of the carriers but it seems OK otherwise.

Well, against everyone’s better judgement and mine too, I ordered it. After the new year, I get the adapters and attach it to my telescope.

The lens issue is probably the thing that is holding me back a bit. I got spoiled with cheap lenses for my two Pentax K mount DSLRs. I like the idea of the 8.5 mm normal lens in the future. But it appears that Pentax does not sell it by itself. You must buy a body. But then at this price, it is like buying the zoom and getting the body for $20.

One thing about the Q, the 5-15 zoom and the 8.5 have the mechanical shutter in the lens and not the body. That brings the price up. But the body can use an electronic shutter as it does with the “toy” lens lineup. So there are 3rd party mechanical adapters for Pentax 110, Screw and K-Mount lenses. Pentax does make a K-mount to Q adapter with a shutter but it is $250!

Still, I was thinking of dropping 150 to 200 on a smaller camera and I am leaning toward it.

Well didn’t get to fire up the Tesla Coil today so just had to settle for the ESD gun.

well went to rebuild my drive in so it had more of a LEGO theme. First step was a new screen. I didn’t have enough plates so I ordered some from brinckbin. THey arrived today with a few other pieces. So yeah, built a new screen. Started on rebuilding the projector house. Broke the ribbon cable on my the my actul projector. So is life.

The main area in Kentucky was to the east of me by about 80 miles. We had tornado warnings in Fayette county with some wind and heavy rain but no real damage. My family and friends also faired well.
