Hells bells. I can’t believe I missed my own damn topic. Too much real life crap lately.
June 6, 2012 at 2:44 am #46925zincprincessParticipantI stepped away from the computer, rebooted and tried again today with a glass of wine at my side. It worked much better. I managed to complete a task using the tablet and shortcut keys. It does take some getting used to especially if you are really skilled at Photoshop with a mouse. Luckily for me, I am not really skilled at Photoshop (yet). I’m really impressed with the amount of control you have with the pen. I’m looking forward to getting better at this.
June 4, 2012 at 2:10 am #46921zincprincessParticipantImpulsively, I bought the stupid thing. I can return it within 30 days if I hate it. The jury is still out on whether or not I hate it. I can tell you that it is a damn pain to get used to. I managed to figure out how to do the basics with my finger or with the pen. When I tried to use it in Photoshop, it was a mess. I cannot get the keyboard shortcuts to work when using the tablet which is a deal breaker for me. I also love the alt-scroll to change magnification with a mouse and I don’t have that option with the tablet. I need to dig a little deeper to figure out if my issues are due to a setting or preference that I don’t have set right. That is a project for another day.
April 21, 2012 at 9:06 pm #46724zincprincessParticipantHappy Birthday Yugo. Mine was 4/17 and I have birthday cash to spend but I can’t decide what I want. I’m thinking either extension tubes or a 50 mm prime lens. Decisions, decisions.

March 29, 2012 at 3:02 pm #46509zincprincessParticipantThe one with the policy above (KBGA) is privately owned but open to the public. I get the feeling they would rather be paid for hosting weddings and events.
The other one is part of the university and should be considered public. They have a policy but it is generally an honor system. I don’t think they really enforce it.
March 29, 2012 at 2:26 pm #46493zincprincessParticipantJudging by these photographs, great pictures are made by sticking your ass out. That’s what I have been doing wrong. D’oh!
March 26, 2012 at 3:16 pm #45900zincprincessParticipantI’m glad you are taking the first step to getting help. I have had to do that more times than I can count since college. Sometimes all it takes is airing it out with someone objective to help you see the path back to sanity. It is better to address it as you are falling down the hole rather than waiting until you are at the bottom. Take care.
March 23, 2012 at 7:40 pm #45814zincprincessParticipantJust got back from Disney World. We made it through security unmolested. My husband carried the backpack with all the computer and photo stuff plus chargers, cables, etc. They didn’t give the backpack a second look. My husband went through the backscatter thing but they sent my 5-year old and I through the metal detector.
March 15, 2012 at 2:26 am #44821zincprincessParticipantYep. That’s how I have felt the past few weeks. Real life has me running in all directions at once.
March 15, 2012 at 2:03 am #45797zincprincessParticipantSee, that’s my biggest worry about flying… I’m afraid I would wax smart-ass with one of the badged drop-outs and wind up in a cell somewhere.
This is my worry as well. I can generally keep my yap shut having flown for work enough. My husband, the infrequent and anxious flier, is another story. That’s what they make valium and xanax for, right?
March 11, 2012 at 7:20 pm #45764zincprincessParticipantGood to know as I pack my crap up to fly with the family for a vacation. Will leave the little cleaning rocket at home along with my liter bottle of listerine I was hoping to carry on.
March 8, 2012 at 5:38 pm #45680zincprincessParticipantThe second the change happened EVERYONE hated it.
There is a lesson in this somewhere, but I am basically to lazy to suss it out.
The lesson is listen to the majority and ignore the outliers and complainers realizing that you cannot please everyone and ultimately they will get over it. This is my philosophy on the stupid little message board I co-own.
March 5, 2012 at 1:27 am #45630zincprincessParticipantWe’re fine. We didn’t even lose power, praise Jebus. Chattanooga and the area east of Chattanooga got hit pretty hard. Knoxville dodged it, thankfully.
February 6, 2012 at 1:21 am #44360zincprincessParticipantMy understanding was either inside or outside. Yugo?
Either. The only restriction is that it’s got to be a building dedicated to some belief system.
I live in the south. We worship college football on Saturday, Jesus on Sunday, and NFL on Sunday afternoons. Most of the time we talk about Saturday’s worship during Sunday’s. That being said, you can’t swing a dead cat in my town without hitting a church. I need to get busy, I guess.
