Indeed it is. Looking forward to putting it and all my lenses through their paces the week of the 12th. Flight and lodging booked for a 6 night trip to Oregon, 3 nights on the coast in Newport, 2 nights in the Willamette Valley and the last evening back in Portland. Hope it’ll be just the trip I need to decompress and relax again after a very stressful stretch at work.

Actually, I do have a Canon camera, the two old Nikon lenses are mated to the XSi with an adapter. Works pretty well, especially with the 135mm, the 300 is a bit more temperamental to get a good shot with. Thanks for the recommendation on the Tokina 11-16 f2.8.

It’s the Clik Elite ProBody Sport. Right now I keep one lens on the camera and the two other lenses in the lower section of the bag, I should also be able to keep the 100mm macro in that compartment as well where I currently have the 55-250’s lens hood. If I get a lens case or something, I can also keep a lens up in the upper section of the bag as well. I’ll be taking my tripod, it should easily pack into the luggage somewhere, and it attaches to the side of my ClikElite when I’m out and about.

but yeah, I hear you about the 18-200 for one lens ease of use. Then again, I’ve learned enough about lenses to know there are trade offs to be made there compared to multiple lenses.

CISS said he was going to be out of town this week, but the site should have been setup to start scraping the new contest, but as with technology there’s always the possibility of something going wrong with the best of plans.

There was a thread, I think it was in Pub & Grill about the new size.

re: camaro, I’ll let Tony know you like. I’ve got the rest of the set over on G+ / Picasa. He picked the thing up like 3 days prior, he’s also got an 80 formula firebird, but it’s getting an engine transplant right now and the electrical isn’t hooked back up. Got lucky and found a stretch of empty rural road outside of town a few miles. Was hoping to find some fresh dark blacktop to set off the color, but didn’t want to park his new ride in the middle of the road and have some country boy in a F-350 come around the corner at the wrong time. You are right about composition over lighting (and that damped pole I didn’t see till I got home)

I’ve got blue, I’ve got new, got options for old, but borrowed, I don’t have a clue!

U-Man, I saw the picture and first thought was “alright, who’s being cute with photoshop”, saw it was you and then was like “how in the world did he pull that off in camera.” Very cool, sad to see the old boat in that sad shape.

I kinda wish this forum had a ‘Like’ button.

    “Like” 🙂

Alright, can I get a quick weigh in on which of these two? Dragged my buddy Tony out in the 95+ degree heat for some photos of his new to him Camaro so I’d best use at least one of the set.

Ended up throwing a “who’s got an old car and willing to let me take pictures of it” message up on facebook. Oddly enough a cycling friend had just returned from Austin to pick up a new-to-him 85 Camaro. Perhaps not the coolest set of old wheels around, but beggers can’t be choosers, and I did come back with a few decent shots.

HDR Sunrise (first real attempt at doing an HDR image)

And a sunset that just didn’t seem to end.

Are reproduction cars aright? ie: Shelby Cobra reproductions, etc.

This is not helping my desire for such a lens. Not helping one little bit. *twitchy mouse finger wants to buy*
