ParticipantI like things simple so I just have Picasa make my galleries (“export as HTML page”) then upload the whole thing in one shot when it’s done. But I do individual galleries rather than adding a pic here and there, your mileage may vary.

ParticipantHappy Just Another Day
(and I’m married – !)

ParticipantI’d go, and I’m allergic to cold.

ParticipantI don’t do squat during winter – don’t even like leaving the house except to go to work or out to dinner or stuff like that.
But once it gets warm out I’ll gladly jump in the car and drive a couple hours because I thought I remembered seeing something on the side of the road two years ago and suddenly right now would be a good time to go back there and check it out.
So to answer the question, I don’t do inspiration and enthusiasm when the winter blahs set in because I know once the days get longer I’ll be right back at it. The photography fix is satisfied now (somewhat) taking pics of the kids around the house.

ParticipantTakes some getting used to, but I’ve been doing it for a couple years now.

ParticipantTalk about limited daylight… I work third shift, get home a little after 6AM and go to bed. If I let myself (or rather, if the pugs let me), I can very easily sleep past 4PM, which at this time of year means I hardly ever see direct sunlight. It’ll get better in another month or two, though.

ParticipantGeez didn’t realize it’s been like six weeks since I last entered one of these things.

ParticipantTalk about ironic, my Tiburon is also “Sunburst Yellow”.
but I digress.

ParticipantI’d like to see the pics bigger, and possibly cropped closer to see more car and less background.
My dad has a Miata that I’ve been trying to convince him would be a lot more fun with a V8 but he’s resisting. He seems to think a low mileage box stock allegedly limited edition yellow ’92 will have some collectable value down the road. Well, that, and he’s already got a machine with plenty of brute force (Factory Five plastic Cobra) that he doesn’t need two. He just doesn’t get it.

ParticipantWe didn’t do anything special for new year’s here, at least, nothing that would warrant arranging photographic evidence. Besides, with all the Christmas decorations still up, it would look a lot like that holiday rather than new year’s.

Participantholy cow is it Thursday already?
I haven’t even taken the pics shot over Christmas off the camera yet.
Maybe next week

ParticipantI’ll be happy to find time to look through my stock, much less go out and shoot something.

ParticipantYou gotta have steady hands to get away with 1/60. I’d go 1/250, maybe even faster, shooting in shutter speed priority mode.
And while I like the thought of VWs on three wheels, I wouldn’t shoot much at that first photo’s place just because the sun is not cooperating and you’re taking pictures of the shadow side of the car. That pic would be epic with the car coming right at you all twisted out of shape like it is, but they might not let you stand in a good place to capture that.
With the Miata, the obvious “oops” is that you lopped off the front bumper. We have a photog out of Vermont that we used to deal with whose name is Leif. When he shot film he was notorious for not getting the whole car in a frame, so much so that when we do it here we say we “Leifed it”; the next thing we do is delete it.
Don’t see anything to complain about with the pic of the Integra except that it’s not me driving it.

ParticipantI had a sick kid as well this weekend: me
I think I’m all better now.

ParticipantNot sure if the pics from that one will be OK to post, it was getting late in the afternoon and I was shooting from the drivers seat of the car trying not to get arrested.
I did that today as well, though not McMansions specifically, just driving around shooting from teh driver’s seat. Wasn’t happy with what I came up with, though, at least not for tonight’s contest. But it’s always possible they’ll be useful in some future contest.
The first time I stopped and shot a picture the flash went off (like I said, it was getting to be somewhere between late afternoon and early evening). Went to switch the settings and noticed some woman walking her dog pretty much at my passenger door looking into the car wondering what the heck I was up to.
These developments are so thickly built with such narrow roads it’s very hard to find a place to stop and do stuff without being right in front of someone’s house or in harm’s way. And people are paying amazing amounts of money for that.
