Participanti have three. one is a decent quality image of my current dog being bad. one is a crappy scan of a kid and a puppy at the beach. and the last was taken with an Intel Pocket PC camera and looks like it. but it’s kittens playing in a box so i’m using it.
i expect to be thoroughly trounced this week but, yet again, i’m posting stuff i like.

ParticipantOne day, I’ll use my domain to build a site, when I get a round tuit. Meanwhile, I admire his (and a few others our members maintain.)
i keep meaning to do something better with my website and finding other things to spend time on instead.
actually i have a semi long list of projects and put them aside to build another computer. but now it’s built and i have no more excuses. well i won’t by the end of the day. besides building a new box i also did some rearranging of my linux and 98 boxes. got to complete that (hardware wise) and perhaps work on the triple boot of XP Pro, Ubuntu and win98SE. but there’s no urgency for that.

Participanti posted a comment telling him to demand a dollar for each use. all inventory not just what they’ve sold.
what good is the internet if you can’t give unsolicited advice to strangers 🙂

ParticipantThe overwhelming majority of my shooting is done with a D80.
my sister has a F2 which she used extensively for years. when she went digital it was first with a fuji A205 i gave her as an introduction camera. she then bought a canon powershot A360 which is her camera of choice now. the D80 was a friend of hers who sold it to her cheap (with lenses) when he upgraded.
i’d hoped she would bring it during her Christmas visit so we could comparison shot against my D3000. she decided it took to much room in her luggage plus she hasn’t really learned to use it. i think both the convenience of the canon and that the canon produces images she can use have got in the way of her getting all the D80 has to offer.
i too would like a D7000 but mine is a loooong way off.

Participantmy sister has a D80 which she doesn’t use that much. i sent her a link to your shots as inspiration 🙂

Participantwell mine are nada compared to yours but thanks for pointing out the stats thing.

Participantshe looks older than 16.
being actors is it easier to get the poses/shots you want?

Participanti have some cute photos of me and my sister when we were little but unfortunately i can’t use them.
Curious
Participantwell i have a kid and a puppy in one shot but it’s a rather poor scan. we shall see how that goes.

Participanthere’s a photo of the first one although you can’t see much of it. it was a ’63 chevy running gear with an earlier blue bird body. i’d made a camper of it. liked it so much i bought a ’61 chevy with a ’51 body from some little school district in AR. also a full sized ’65 which was going to be converted and sold. unfortunately this was in the mid ’70s when gas was hard to get and the mileage on them was poor. just the one shown was converted. the full size was gutted and then used to move here and sold as is. the ’61 was abandoned on my then GF uncle’s farm.
and just FYI that’s not an effective way to sell your “art” 🙂
Curious
Participantrav having converted a few (ok just two) i’d say your abandoned truck was a school bus.

Participanti like the one use rule although i’ve run afoul of it once or twice. it does keep the contests fresh and unless you are archive diving isn’t a problem. and even then as others have suggested there are work arounds. especially so since we can’t post our original photos but have to at least resize them.

Participantput together a windows 7 box today and set it up with dual monitors. boy howdy is there a difference in the color. once i get to image mangling and printing it will be interesting to see what develops.
some time soon i’ll play with the color settings but for now to much else to do.
i have to admit that windows 7 is easier than XP was as far as the installed drivers. there are lots of them. but i had downloaded the drivers from canon for my i850 printer prior to the OS install. it didn’t install correctly but when i ran the troubleshooter windows found the right driver and fixed the problem.
and when i connected my D3000 it saw the NEF files/photos and displayed thumbnails. i still installed nikon ViewNX2 for transfer and file conversion. the odd thing is that when using explorer to view files not only do the NEF not show thumbnails but if you click the blank icon you get the the “file type unknown what now” box. i’ll have to see if there is a RAW windows viewer like i have in XP.

Participant/just started a slow transition to Canon
And the battle rages on… 😆
Wait till I make the slow transition from Canon to Hasselblad…
In my wettest wettest dreams
if my ship laden with pirate gold ever comes in a medium format hasselblad is definitely on the list. although images roughly 50MB is going to require even more RAM than the box currently being built.
