Participantit’s a wordpress site with the lensa theme. Took me all of about an hour to get it up and going, most of that figuring out what pictures I wanted for the front page flipper. Still working out how to manage the albums and such.
Awesome thanks!
/stealing it 😀

ParticipantAlright, got around to setting up a photography blog/site/portfolio on my old domain. It’s still very much a work in progress, but at least for the foreseeable future the domain will be: http://jonpfischer.com
Did you code that or did you hire it out? Damn! I want that!

ParticipantI need a Judges ruling: Are we limiting this to edible fruits and vegetables? Would pumpkins, in Jack O Lanterns count? What about persons wearing costumes representing a fruit or vegetable?

ParticipantI read this as no photos OF the Sun rise/set, otherwise it would be very difficult to have ANY photos of the golden hours. 🙂

ParticipantCleaned out all the old themes and plugins, rescanned and came back clean for now, please let me know if you still have problems.
I do NOT want to dump almost four years worth of posts.

ParticipantI’m getting it, too. On your blog, regardless of page, but not on your main webpage.
Chrome with AVG: Exploit: Blackhat SEO (type 1720) Embedded adware/malware.
This is new within the last three days. (I had no problems with your blog on Friday) I haven’t changed anything in Chrome or AVG since then (In fact, AVG has been yelling at me about being out of date for a month or three). Do you have an automated external ad source on your blog that rotates through advertisers?
I’m going to update AVG and try again.
Shit, OK, I found it through Sucuri.
Godamnit somuch, if I have to dump the entire site to clean it I am going to very pissed.

ParticipantIf the ceiling is a consistent height and color you can bounce it. Maybe tape a gel filter to the front so any unbounced light is warm or whatever.
I split between bounce and a softbox on the flash. I wanted to do off camera but found I needed both hands to zoom on the fly.

ParticipantCall me a creeper or lurker, but I follow a few photo blogs, and yours is one of them. Today, I got a “threat was blocked” from AVG when visiting. Said it was a Blackhat SEO (type 1720). Not sure what that means, but I can’t seem to view the blog. 😥
My best guess is AVG is over zealously marking my page as blackhat SEO because I am using ANY SEO. I check my source code and activity logs, I haven’t been hacked. I am going to say the problem is with AVG and not me, but if other people are getting a similar warning let me know.
Also, staplermofo, since the incident in Kansas City where I discovered I was brutally murdered I’ve come prefer Life Challenged to “Zombie”.
/that was really creepy my when Google Alerts started blowing up with my death

ParticipantOuch! Get that femur/hip fixxored soon! Those are some super-solid bones you broke… should I ask how it happened?

ParticipantI THOUGHT YOU HAD INTEGRITY!

I guess I was wrong
*sob sob sob*Maybe you’re ready for these advanced photography techniques now.
BWAHAHAHA. Loser. Are you gonna post some selective color flowers or artificially vignetted sepia shot of something mechanical?Just kidding, it’s nice you found something new to use. I hope it brings you as much happiness as being mean for no reason brings me.
Too mean, too mean 😀

ParticipantI’ve yet to see a single review or photographer who likes it. There is a reason they’ve halved their price in less than 12 months.

ParticipantWhen do they traditionally hold the parade?
I might be interested in being that “assistant to be named later.”
I’m fairly certain that with enough warning, my wife and sister-in-law can do the shopping thing, while I join you where the action really is.
The last Sunday in June. The whole last week of June is Pride Week, with several events. The last Sunday, however, is the March and then Rapture on the River, which is part rally, part concert but mostly semi-naked sweaty people getting they groove on. 😛
Let me know, it’ s something to see and the photo-ops are fantastic. I tend to gravitate toward the smaller parades in the boroughs because the March is so corporate these days it should start “ATT Gay Pride Parade” while the small parades are actually about, you know, Pride.

ParticipantSo there I was, in New York City, for the gay high holy day: Pride Day. So I schlepped myself over to Manhattan, and it only took 1 train. When I arrived at the pier where the opening event was taking place, I was informed by event staff that photography was not allowed unless I checked in with the media table. (I really should get a press pass for occasions like this. Has anyone ever done that? Any suggestions?) “Ha!” I thought to myself.
I managed to get a reasonable shot of Lady Gaga and the ASL interpreter, considering the illumination and my equipment.

Next to me was a gentleman with a camera phone making a really bad movie.

Nothing like having you musical heroine come out as a solid white blob you can share with your friends. Perhaps the audio doesn’t totally suck?First, you should’ve told me you were in town, I would’ve totally met up with you and covered you on my Press Pass! (I always request two, for an assistant to be named later) Second, yup, you need a Press Pass for the Pride events, BUT they are easy to get. All you need to is prove you are a “working photographer or member of the media” by which you have been published in some form of media old or new. Basically, if you have a personal blog featuring your photography, you are covered.
The open the event up for passes usually in May, but you can sign up as late as a week before the festival. I didn’t hit the event on the Piers, I only shot the March, but I managed to get some shots of Edie Windsor, who was WAY better see than Lady Gaga

ParticipantAre we not posting the Thread early this week?
