There’s one picture I thought of immediately when i heard of this contest — otherwise I might have used it for clusterfark — that I really really love and, as it breaks some “rules” I think a lot of other people would go “wtf were you thinking?” even though it turned out exactly the way I wanted it to lol. I’d be tickled pink if it did well.

And I have one more so far. As for the third pic? Archive diving time! 😉 Prolly one of my silly perspective twisting or depth of field pix.

well this is pretty much what everyone else said, but… I can’t think of any reason that would have gotten deleted unless flickr burped long enough for Fark to assume the image link was permanently broken and deleted the entry. If you notice your entry disappearing, it’s a good idea to post in the farktography discussion thread as soon as you notice it so a mod can look into it before you start losing potential votes. It can be fixed, if it’s caught early enough, as was demonstrated here. 🙂

There’s nothing wrong with either the specs or the content of your picture. Only you know if the saturation makes the animal look unnatural. 😉

thanks, schnee… the OCD in me has been sitting in a corner rocking back and forth saying “it’s only numbers” over and over again for a couple of weeks now. It’s getting old. 😉

I’ve sort of going with “so much going on that it’s hard to tell what the photographer (that would be me) was aiming at, much less going for”… does that sound right? I’ll be honest, I’m archive diving. I don’t know if I could make myself take that kind of picture on purpose. 😛

I got to use the 100, too, when LadyNocturne lent it to us. I decided not to go with it partly because it was outside our budget, but also because of what Olav mentioned. Not just tracking something moving, but finding it in the first place! I took some pretty fabulous shots (as far as clarity and fun bokeh) with that camera and then ended up getting the 50 ml detailed above. I kind of figured I’d just never use the auto-focus, but I do sometimes and I don’t find its hunting issues annoying, because that’s what macro lenses do, no matter how much you pay for them. I wasn’t super wowed by the lens, but I think I’d gone past being able to be wowed by anything I could possibly afford. 😛 I am quite happy with it, though, and would recommend it. I use it a LOT.

And he included a bronze statuette of Ganesh, a God of whom I’m very fond. The whole package really warmed my heart. He outed himself to me, but I don’t know if I am supposed to out him. He is among us and a hell of a good guy and a great photographer. Thank you. 😀

Christmas in general rocked for me because the children all feel like they made out like bandits and even if they are a bit out of control mood-wise at the moment, they are happy and the household is full of holiday joy.

Sooooo… I had my idea a few weeks ago. I thought, “Great! I have an idea, I can relax.” Then it got to be today and I still had an idea but no pictures. Ideas aren’t worth much if you don’t actually take the pictures. So I get all my props together and am ready to go… and my kids call … and it’s 1 hour to post time. So I took all my pictures and did all my post-processing while on the phone with my children. Ai chihuahua.

I didn’t mention I don’t have an earpiece did I? 😯 heehee
