ParticipantI SUPPORT THIS RULE 😉

ParticipantI haven’t wanted to say anything but I really think there is too much controversy about what qualifies as barren in this theme.
There are a lot of things that come from living things that are not themselves living. For example: feathers, claws, teeth, fossils, dung, milk. If we start getting too technical, anything made of plastic (oil based item, oil is from dead animals and plants), limestone (animals in ancient seabeds) and wood are ineligible! Even steel uses carbon from burning wood. Yeah, sap is more “plantey” but it is not alive. And neither are feathers, claws, teeth, fossils or milk once they’re separated from their sources.
The composite materials in my pictures are water, sand, miscellaneous rock, ivory, milk and clay. If one of these is not acceptable please let me know right away.

ParticipantI think your edited description works fine for post-processing. If people have specific questions about what is and isn’t allowed they can phrase them in the contest thread.

ParticipantTableau is probably one of, if not the best all around theme we ever did, at least IMHO.
I need more explanation for your special dispensation though. Are you saying effects such as the “standard artistic effects in processing programs” would be ok (burn, gloss, pointellize, wax, tissue paper, etc), effects such as over-saturation to make an Andy Warhol/Obama poster effect would be okay or something else?

ParticipantAspidites scares me…

ParticipantHonestly not too concerned about it. If they’re reading the contest (which never happens anyway right) they can google something if they can’t figure out what’s going on.

ParticipantConsidering what we’re going through with the government right now, I’m not inclined to believe there’s anything benevolent about police actions these days. Democracy and freedom and transparency all come with risk. People need to decide what’s more important, our personal liberties or a placebo against terrorism.

ParticipantIt’s spelled “Roethlisbungler” or “Fumblesberger” or “Rapelessberger” or “Ulcerberger” if you’re a Steelers fan.

ParticipantYeah we figured you would know that exact spot, perhaps even use your own photo of it. Now I drive by the sign for it every day.

ParticipantQuestion. Is a frame from a video acceptable for a farktography?
I haven’t managed to take a snap specfically for this week’s competition sadly; but this shot from a video I made is well suited.
Thanks and looking forward to seeing results!
I’d love to encourage your participation, but unfortunately Farktography entries must be photographs. Screen captures, which would include video captures, are excluded from the contest.
You’ve still got 2 (6) hours though, maybe there’s something around the house or down the street that would work?

ParticipantI figured /p/ was the point where you go professional or not, and if you did then you follow the dotted line up and become, well, an asshole.
