ParticipantOur official wedding pictures will be released tomorrow. You can see them at http://www.pictage.com. If you register before tomorrow you can get a $5 credit (tho you don’t have to use it).

ParticipantAt my house still. I never got it out to thepostess but she has disappeared now.

ParticipantI think if that’s the logic though, there are no photographers. If you aren’t considering the photograph a result of the creative vision, well, the camera is what is doing all the work.

ParticipantFilm is fun!

ParticipantElsinore is the person who does theme scheduling and she just posted about how she is very busy with RL the next week or so in the Scannera thread. She will get to it before we hit the last contest. I’d suggest go out and start shooting for whatever you don’t have in archives already and get a head start, you can reasonably assume any themes in the fast votes is likely to be scheduled soon.

ParticipantYep Big Brown Bats are significantly larger than most species and the 2nd largest in North America. But that also makes iding them easier.

ParticipantI love bats. Used to go bat watching in middle school. Looks like Eptesicus fuscus, otherwise known as the unimaginitively named “Big Brown Bat”.

ParticipantApparently after you vote it reviews your votes, new change.

ParticipantI think you have made it very clear that nothing should be posted but the picture. Cretinbob can always repost.
Well see, that’s the thing (and the reason I waffle at all). We didn’t actually say nothing should be posted, and we’re allowing the mentions of links back to photo host. We said specifically no descriptions, titles, or captions. And what he posted isn’t really any of those.
I’m more inclined to leave it than not since it’s not interfering or influencing captioning which is the point of not having captions right?
Kestrana
ParticipantYup, np.

ParticipantI think the subject is really interesting and relatable but I actually think the original looks better than the edit because 1) it calls more attention to the busy background because the negative space in the sky was removed and 2) the tighter crop emphasizes the motion blur and 3) [from orionid] the dynamic range in the original actually draws more attention to the colors in the bubble.
That said, your photography skills are definitely growing and it never hurts to enter your photographs in something like that contest because you never know what they might be looking for.
