ParticipantSo we’re all on the same page, right?
Right. And cars are alive, right?
They consume, they excrete, they are mobile, modern ones even have brains that think
They still don’t reproduce though.
wanna bet?
Until I see little Smart cars waddling away, it didn’t happen.
How many nested quotes can we get?
At some point they’ll collapse in on themselves and form a black quote hole.
I wanna see that in a twisted kinda way 😈
A hole from which no substance can escape.
Past the point of no return.
Would it help if we divided by zero?

ParticipantHaving a hard time with some last-minute decisions. Anyone have some tips? I’m split between these two for time-lapse:
1. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ilpadrino03/5964367062/
2. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ilpadrino03/5963811383/And I like this one’s motion and colour, but the more I look at it, the more it seems it doesn’t tell enough of the surroundings:
3. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ilpadrino03/5963781465/Any thoughts?
I like the first one best.

ParticipantOr you could always keep them on the card permanently and only show people the photos by physically handing them the camera (I know some folks that do that…)
When did you meet my mom?

ParticipantGuess I’ll have to get the shots I took of the storm while I was in Massachusetts off my camera sooner or later.

ParticipantLove the raccoon shot.

ParticipantFill light is the one Im not quite sure about since I don’t really know what it does and how it works, is it something that is applied all the way across the image? That said, Im having trouble figuring out what fill light did in you image since the edited version is contrastier and I’m not finding any shadowy areas in the original that aren’t darker in the edited version.

ParticipantI’ve never used adobe camera raw so I don’t know what you were doing, but just by looking at the end result I would be ok with allowing that unless adobe has some crazy manipulation stuff in it that you were using, it mostly looks like you were giving the photo a kind a sepianess.

ParticipantI use gimp and ufraw. I run linux so I don’t have the photoshop/lightroom option. I keep meaning to give bibble labs a try sometime, but I’ve gotten quite good at putting that off.

ParticipantOne of the things we talked about in the last rules revision for Themes was the 2 year waiting period between repeats of Classic themes. We could elect to make Software Hootenanny a once a year event, or once every 18 month event. Stitching 2 is in the hopper as mentioned. HDR was done not too long ago, so if this gets enough votes, under the current rules we would have to wait until that date to schedule it again.
The last hdr was in april 2010 and with 32 contests already in the hopper theres plenty of stuff waiting to get scheduled before hdr, so it shouldn’t be hard for this to happen 2 years after the last one.

ParticipantNice shots, I think the Shenandoah has to be my favorite part of Virginia.

ParticipantI think that would work, it just says that the object just has to be round, not appear as a circle in the picture.
